Mandya University Guest Faculty Recruitment 2026: Overview

Mandya University, a state public university of the Government of Karnataka, is looking for temporary Guest Faculty for the 2026-27 academic year at its Sir M. Visvesvaraya Post Graduate Centre in Tubinakere. The guest lecturers will take up the extra postgraduate teaching load in four subjects, on an honorarium basis, following the UGC rules and the Karnataka State Universities Act, 2000. Selection is through a walk-in interview, and the interview dates for each subject will be posted on the university website later.

If you hold a master's degree in one of these subjects and have cleared NET, SLET/KSET or a Ph.D, this is a chance to teach PG classes close to Mandya for a year. Candidates who have already taught at the university get preference.

Posts and Disciplines

• Commerce: guest teaching for the postgraduate Commerce department at the Tubinakere PG centre.
• Social Work (MSW): guest teaching for the Master of Social Work programme.
• Sugar Technology: guest teaching in the PG Sugar Technology department, one of the two applied-science subjects in this call.
• Polymer Science: guest teaching in the PG Polymer Science department.

The notice does not fix a number of posts per subject — the university engages guest faculty according to the actual teaching workload in each department.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Purely temporary: The engagement is only for the extra workload of 2026-27 and is not against any sanctioned post. You cannot claim regular service, continuation or permanency later.
• Pay depends on hours and qualification: the honorarium has four slabs based on whether you teach 12 or 8 hours a week and whether you hold a UGC qualification (Ph.D/NET/SLET/KSET). Holidays are excluded when the workload is shared out.
• Place of work: Selected candidates must be ready to serve anywhere within the university's jurisdiction.
• No second job: if you are found working at two places, the appointment order is withdrawn. The application form also asks you to declare that you hold no full-time job or academic course.
• Admissions caveat: if first-year admissions do not happen in a subject, no guest faculty will be selected for it.
• Attendance: the university can cancel the engagement for repeated unauthorised absence.
• Canvassing and false information: any direct or indirect influence, or wrong details in the form, leads to disqualification.
• Travel cost: no TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.

Download the application form from mandyauniversity.karnataka.gov.in, fill it in, and submit it in two copies at the Registrar's office, Mandya University, Vishwa Gangothri Campus, M.C. Road, Mandya 571401 during office hours. Use a separate form and a separate fee demand draft for each subject you apply for.

On your subject's interview day, reach the venue one hour early with both copies of the form and all original certificates — the originals are checked before the interview starts. No separate interview letter is sent, so keep checking the university website.
