BRIC-NABI Project Associate-I Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

BRIC-National Agri-Food and Biomanufacturing Institute (BRIC-NABI) is an autonomous institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. Advertisement No. NABI/Admin/5(09)/2026-27/Academic-5 is for one temporary Project Associate-I position in the Food and Nutritional Biotechnology division. The project title is Developing abiotic stress tolerant high-yielding STuRDY rice in mega variety Swarna through genome editing under project code GAP-92.

This role is under Principal Investigator Prof. Ashwani Pareek, Executive Director, BRIC-NABI. The project contact listed in the notice is Dr. Charanpreet Kaur, Scientist-D. Who Can Apply?

• Essential qualification: Postgraduate degree in any branch of Life Sciences or Biotechnology, or Graduate/Postgraduate qualification in Life Sciences or Biotechnology as listed in the notification.
• Higher fellowship route: For the Rs. 31,000 + HRA salary, you should have qualified through CSIR-UGC NET including Lectureship / Assistant Professorship, GATE, or a national-level selection process conducted by central government departments, agencies or institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc or IISER.
• Desirable experience: General plant molecular biology, plant tissue culture techniques and plant transformation will be useful for this project.
• Project fit: The work is linked to rice stress tolerance, genome editing, plant biotechnology and crop improvement research.

Salary

• Duration: The post is for one year first and may be extended every year based on satisfactory progress.

Selection Process (Interview)

BRIC-NABI will select the Project Associate-I through interview and document verification. The notice does not mention any written exam for this post.
