BOB SAC Panel Member Recruitment 2026: Overview
Bank of Baroda (BOB) is forming a Settlement Advisory Committee (SAC) at its Corporate Office to examine one-time-settlement proposals involving non-performing accounts. This is a specialist panel for retired judges, senior government officers and senior public-sector bankers who can bring independent judgement to difficult recovery decisions. The engagement is advisory and meeting-based, not a regular bank-service appointment.
The committee works with the bank's Stressed Assets Management Vertical in Mumbai. Its recommendations help the competent sanctioning committee weigh commercial recovery, fairness and public-accountability concerns before taking a final view on an OTS proposal.
Posts and Disciplines
- Chairperson: A retired High Court judge leads the committee, structures its discussion and helps ensure that each recommendation follows a reasoned and independent process.
- Other Members: Retired senior officers from the All India Services, State secretariat services, public-sector undertakings or the Central Bureau of Investigation contribute administrative, investigative and governance experience.
- Banker: A retired senior executive from a nationalised bank other than Bank of Baroda contributes credit, recovery and banking-policy expertise.
Post-wise Duties
Chairperson
The Chairperson will guide deliberations, test the reasoning placed before the panel and help frame clear observations for the sanctioning committee. The role calls for judicial independence and comfort with complex financial records.
Other Members
These members will examine the public-interest, administrative and conduct aspects of each proposal. You will use your senior-service experience to identify control gaps, unusual circumstances and matters needing further explanation.
Banker
The banker will examine the credit history, recovery position and practical implications of the proposed settlement. Your contribution should help the panel connect banking practice with a balanced recovery recommendation.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Tenure: The engagement runs for two years and remains subject to an annual review.
- Residence preference: Applicants living in the Mumbai Metropolitan Area receive preference.
- Committee functioning: The SAC needs at least four members for a sitting, and the Chairperson's presence is compulsory.
- Independence: The panel gives observations and recommendations; the bank's competent sanctioning committee takes the approval decision.
- Finality: The Selection Committee's decision on engagement is final under the notice.
