BMC is hiring 64 DNB Teacher (Senior and Junior Consultant) posts across two peripheral hospitals in Mumbai — Shri Harilal Bhagwati Hospital, Borivali and Smt. Mansadevi Tulsiram Agarwal Hospital, Mulund. If you hold a MD/MS/DNB in any of the listed specialties with at least 2 to 8 years of post-PG experience, you can apply offline. Posts are spread across two peripheral hospitals: Shri Harilal Bhagwati Hospital, Borivali (34 posts) and Smt. Mansadevi Tulsiram Agarwal Hospital, Mulund (30 posts). Specialists in General Medicine, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Emergency Medicine, Ophthalmology, Skin & VD, Radiology, Pathology, Anaesthesiology, and ENT can apply. These are contract posts with renewal every six months.

DNB Teacher Grade-I (Senior Consultant) — Degree Course

  • Qualification: MD/MS/DNB in the concerned specialty from a recognised institution
  • Experience: Minimum 8 years of work experience after completing MD/MS/DNB

DNB Teacher Grade-II (Junior Consultant) — Degree Course

  • Qualification: MD/MS/DNB in the concerned specialty
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of work experience after completing MD/MS/DNB

DNB Teacher Grade-I (Senior Consultant) — Diploma Course

  • Qualification: MD/MS/DNB in the concerned specialty
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of work experience after completing MD/MS/DNB

DNB Teacher Grade-II (Junior Consultant) — Diploma Course

  • Qualification: MD/MS/DNB in the concerned specialty
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of work experience after completing MD/MS/DNB

Note: Working knowledge of Marathi language is mandatory for all posts.

Age Limit

  • Maximum age: 60 years as on the last date of application (15 May 2026)
  • No minimum age is specified in the notification

Salary

  • Degree Course — Grade I (Senior Consultant): Rs. 2,00,000 per month
  • Degree Course — Grade II (Junior Consultant): Rs. 1,50,000 per month
  • Diploma Course — Grade I (Senior Consultant): Rs. 1,50,000 per month
  • Diploma Course — Grade II (Junior Consultant): Rs. 1,25,000 per month

These are contractual posts. Contracts are renewed every six months. Consultants may maintain their own private practice in a non-academic independent setup.

Selection is based on the following stages:

Responsibilities

  • Teach DNB students as per the approved timetable — deliver lectures, guide practical work, and supervise clinical training
  • Maintain class registers, attendance records, and student assessment documents
  • Examine patients in the assigned department, guide diagnosis, prescribe treatment, and supervise surgical operations and post-operative care
  • Conduct and guide research work in the specialty concerned
  • Conduct examinations as required by the National Board of Examinations
  • Arrange health education programmes for urban health centres in consultation with the Medical Superintendent
  • Assist Grade-I consultant (for Grade-II posts) and carry out duties assigned by the Medical Superintendent and Head of Department
  • Remain available full-time at the hospital — this must be the principal place of practice with no other academic institutional affiliations
