Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navratna company under the Ministry of Defence, has released notification number 2026-27/06/PK/PE(Chemical)/005 for the post of Project Engineer (Chemical) at its Panchkula Unit. BEL is one of India's premier professional electronics companies working in military communication, radars, naval systems and homeland security. This is a single UR (unreserved) post on a fixed-term engagement, ideal for chemical engineers with hands-on experience in effluent treatment, electroplating and powder coating plants. The role is mainly focused on environment and chemical process work - managing the effluent treatment plant, electroplating chemistry and powder coating operations while keeping all records ready for pollution control board audits. With over 350 products across defence electronics, BEL offers a stable and respected work environment for chemical engineers.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have a B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc Engineering degree in Chemical (4-year course) from an AICTE-approved college or a recognised University, with a Pass Class (as on 1 June 2026).
• Experience: You need a minimum of 2 years of relevant post-qualification industrial work experience.
• Hands-on experience required in: ETP (Effluent Treatment Plant), Electroplating plating plant, and Powder coating plant.
• Only Indian citizens can apply. Candidates currently working in BEL as Project Engineers are not eligible.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 32 years for General candidates as on 1 June 2026.
• Age Relaxation: PwBD candidates with 40% or more disability get 10 years relaxation. Ex-servicemen get relaxation as per government rules.

Salary

This is a consolidated monthly pay that increases each year:

• 1st year (PE-I): Rs. 40,000 per month
• 2nd year (PE-II): Rs. 45,000 per month
• 3rd year (PE-III): Rs. 50,000 per month
• 4th year (PE-IV): Rs. 55,000 per month
• Plus Rs. 12,000 per year towards insurance premium, attire allowance, stitching and footwear charges.
• Retention Bonus: Rs. 25,000 for each completed year, paid as Rs. 1,00,000 at the end of 4 years.

The engagement is initially for 3 years, which may be extended by one more year based on project needs and your performance.

Application Fee

• General candidates: Rs. 400 + 18% GST
• SC / ST / PwBD / Ex-servicemen: No fee
• Payment is made through SBI Collect (online or at any SBI branch). No cheque, DD or cash is accepted.
• The fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Selection Process

Selection is done in two stages:

1. Written Test: Carries 85% weightage. The qualifying marks are 35% for General and 30% for PwBD.
2. Interview: Carries 15% weightage. Candidates are shortlisted for interview in the order of merit in a 1:5 ratio based on the written test score. Qualifying marks are 35% for General and 30% for PwBD.

The final selection is subject to the candidate being found medically fit by BEL's medical authorities.

• Monitor discharge water from the electroplating plant into the chromium reduction and cyanide oxidation tanks
• Handle treatment activities at the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) and sludge disposal as per pollution control board norms
• Monitor the chemical composition for electroplating processes such as chromate conversion, anodizing, tin plating and nickel plating
• Oversee painting and powder coating operations and the shades of painting
• Maintain log books and documentation for all treatment, plating and painting processes
• Track stack emission as per central and state pollution control board norms
• Prepare the documents required for audit purposes
