Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Defence and India's premier professional electronics company, has invited applications for temporary engagement of Field Operation Engineers (FOE) and Project Engineer-I for the Homeland Security & Smart City Business SBU of the Bengaluru Complex. Selection is through pre-registered Walk-In Selection involving a written test followed by interview. The posting will be at various project sites in Delhi, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, and selected candidates should be willing to travel across India.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification (both posts)

• M.E. / M.Tech / B.E. / B.Tech / B.Sc Engineering (4-year course) from an AICTE/UGC approved college or recognised University in any of:
  • Electronics / Electronics & Communication / Electronics & Telecommunication / Telecommunication / Communication
  • Mechanical
  • Electrical / Electrical & Electronics

Post-Qualification Experience (as on 01-06-2026)

• Field Operation Engineer: 5 years relevant experience in Networking / Data Centres / Database Administration. Must know firewall, AAA server, routing (OSPF, BGP), switching (STP, RSTP, VTP), VLAN, NTP, port security, DNS, CCNA basics, IP addressing, sub-netting, Linux basics.
• Project Engineer-I: 2 years relevant experience in the same areas with the same skill set.
• Teaching/Academic/Research work, banking experience, non-profit experience and internships are NOT counted as relevant experience.

Age Limit (as on 01-06-2026)

• Field Operation Engineer: Upper age 40 years
• Project Engineer-I: Upper age 32 years
• Age Relaxation: OBC (NCL) - 3 years, SC/ST - 5 years, PwBD - 10 years (additional to OBC/SC/ST relaxation if applicable)

Salary

• Field Operation Engineer (FOE): All-inclusive consolidated Rs. 60,000 per month for the 1st year, with an annual increase of Rs. 5,000 for each year of extension
• Project Engineer-I: All-inclusive consolidated Rs. 40,000 per month for the 1st year, with an annual increase of Rs. 5,000 for each year of extension
• FOE additional: Rs. 20,000 per year for medical insurance premium, attire allowance, stitching charges and footwear allowance
• Project Engineer additional: Rs. 12,000 per year for insurance premium, attire allowance, stitching charges and footwear allowance
• Period of Contract: FOE - initially 3 years, extendable up to 5 years total. Project Engineer - initially 3 years, extendable up to 4 years total.

Application Fee

• Field Operation Engineer: Rs. 450 + 18% GST
• Project Engineer-I: Rs. 400 + 18% GST
• SC / ST / PwBD candidates: No fee (exempted)
• Payment mode: Online only through SBI Collect. Generate the SBI Collect Reference Number after payment and enter it in the application form.
• Candidates applying for both posts must make separate payment for each post.

Selection Process

Selection is through Pre-Registered Walk-In Selection in and around Delhi, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh:

1. Online Registration: Fill the Microsoft Office Form on the BEL website within the application window.
2. Shortlisting: Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria will be intimated by e-mail and listed on the BEL careers page.
3. Written Test: Carries 85 marks. Conducted at the walk-in venue.
4. Interview: Carries 15 marks. Candidates passing the written test will be called for interview in the ratio of 1:10 in order of merit.
5. Document Verification at the walk-in venue.

The schedule of interviews will be conducted on the same day or the subsequent days, so candidates must make travel plans accordingly.

5. Fill the online application form with the SBI Collect Reference Number, personal details, qualification and experience.
6. Submit the form — the filled application will be sent to your registered e-mail ID.
7. Take a printout of the filled application and carry it along with 2 recent passport-size colour photographs and relevant documents on the day of the walk-in selection.
8. The venue and date will be intimated later by e-mail and on the BEL website.

• Handle data networking operations including firewall, AAA server and database administration at project sites
• Configure and maintain routing protocols (OSPF, BGP) and switching protocols (STP, RSTP, VTP)
• Manage VLAN, EtherChannel, NTP, port security, DNS, IP addressing and sub-netting
• Operate and troubleshoot data centres and network infrastructure at HLS and Smart City project sites
• Maintain Linux servers and apply basic CCNA-level network configuration
• Travel across project sites in Delhi, Punjab, UP and MP as per project requirement
• Prepare daily operational reports and assist project leaders with site-level execution
• Coordinate with vendors and customer teams during deployment and maintenance phases
