National CAMPA AIGF Recruitment 2026: Overview

The National Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority (National CAMPA), which works under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), wants Indian Forest Service (IFS) officers to serve as Assistant Inspector General of Forests (AIGF) at its office in New Delhi. The posts are filled on deputation under the Compensatory Afforestation Fund Act, 2016 and the CAF Rules, 2018.

The AIGF post is formally outside the Central Staffing Scheme, but eligibility and terms follow the MoEFCC Central Staffing Scheme for IFS officers (OM No. A.12011/1/2003-IFS.I dated 06.05.2011). This circular is meant for serving IFS officers whose State or UT cadre is willing to sponsor them for a central posting.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Who can apply: Only IFS officers nominated by their State/UT Government — the circular invites nominations from all State and UT governments.
• Service reckoning date: Minimum years of service, and service left before superannuation where it applies, are counted from 1 January 2026.
• Cooling-off: If you have been on deputation before, you are considered only after completing the mandatory cooling-off period under Central Government rules.
• Tenure and place: Posting is at Delhi for a period not exceeding five years.
• Debarment risk: If you are selected and your appointment is approved but you do not join, you will be debarred from central deputation.
• State consent: Applications without the consent of the State/UT Government are not entertained.

Application Submission Notes

Fill the Annexure-I form (also on ifs.nic.in) — Part I by you and Part II by the Head of Forest Department of your State/UT. Address it to the CEO, National Authority, CAMPA and send it by email to nationalcampa-moefcc@gov.in along with vigilance clearance, attested APARs, State Government concurrence and your updated Executive Record Sheet. Tick through the Annexure-II checklist before sending, because late or incomplete applications are not considered.
