Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), one of India's premier Navratna defence PSUs, is hiring 18 engineers for its Network and Cyber Security Strategic Business Unit. If you hold a B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science, Electronics, IT, or Cyber Security and have hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations, this is your chance to work on critical national security projects from New Delhi.

• Contract duration: 4 years for Field Operation Engineers, 3 years (extendable to 4) for Project Engineers

Selection Process

BEL will shortlist candidates through a Written Test followed by an Interview. The written exam carries 85% weightage while the interview accounts for 15%. Candidates who clear the written test will be called for interviews in a 1:5 ratio based on merit in each category. The written test venue is Bengaluru and Delhi, and interviews will be held in Bengaluru.

Preparation Tips

1. Brush up on network security fundamentals -- focus on SIEM, firewall rules, ACLs, IPS/IDS, and packet analysis concepts that are core to SOC operations
2. Review networking protocols thoroughly -- IPv4/IPv6, OSPF, BGP, RIP, routing, switching, VPN, DNS, and DHCP are likely written test topics
3. Practice vulnerability assessment scenarios -- understand OWASP Top 10, Nessus, Wireshark, Burp Suite, and penetration testing methodologies
4. Revise your OEM certification material -- questions may be drawn from Cisco, F5, Trellix, Fortinet, or similar vendor technologies depending on your specialization

• Monitor and triage security alerts from SIEM platforms, validate true and false positives, and execute initial incident response including containment and remediation
• Configure, install, and manage core network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers across LAN/WAN/VPN networks
• Implement network security measures including firewall rules, ACLs, and IPS in collaboration with security teams
• Conduct automated and manual vulnerability assessment scans and penetration testing (Black/Grey/White Box) with CVSS scoring and remediation strategies
• Maintain up-to-date documentation, network diagrams, and configuration standards
• Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot servers and storage systems (SAN/NAS) including VM management, provisioning, and backup/restores
• Secure all devices including laptops, desktops, servers, and IoT by enforcing security policies and ensuring data protection
• Analyse security incidents, identify root causes, triage based on severity, and participate in forensic investigations
• Configure and manage security tools such as firewalls, endpoint protection, NG-SIEM, and apply security patches across Windows, Linux, and Group Policy environments
• Perform threat modelling and continuously monitor network traffic, bandwidth utilisation, and device status for security threats
