Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) has released an advertisement for filling up 4 contractual positions at their office in Bamunimaidam, Guwahati-21. The recruitment covers two different roles: Junior Administrative Assistant cum Program Assistant (for Computer Science graduates) and Junior Administrative Assistant cum Accounts Assistant (for Commerce graduates). Who Can Apply?

For Junior Administrative Assistant cum Program Assistant:

• Qualification: You need a graduation degree in Computer Science or a related subject from a government-recognized institution.
• Minimum marks: At least 50% in 10th, 50% in 12th, and 50% in graduation.
• Bonus: If you hold an MCA qualification from a recognized institute, you will get extra marks (up to 10) during selection.
• Experience bonus: Work experience in a relevant field in any Government or Government Undertaking office will earn you extra marks (up to 10). Minimum 1 year of experience needed to qualify.

For Junior Administrative Assistant cum Accounts Assistant:

• Qualification: You need a graduation degree in Commerce from a government-recognized institution.
• Minimum marks: At least 50% in 10th, 50% in 12th, and 50% in graduation.
• Bonus: If you have a CA Inter passing certificate, you will receive 10 extra marks during the selection process.
• Experience bonus: Work experience in a relevant field in any Government or Government Undertaking office will earn you extra marks (up to 10). Minimum 1 year of experience needed to qualify.

You must be an Indian citizen and registered in a District Employment Office of Assam.

Age Limit

• You should be between 21 and 38 years old as on 01 January 2026.
• SC/STP/STH candidates: Upper age relaxed by 5 years (up to 43 years).
• OBC/MOBC candidates: Upper age relaxed by 3 years (up to 41 years).
• Your age will be verified from your Matriculation/HSLC Admit Card or Certificate issued by a recognized Board or Council. No other document will be accepted.

Salary

• Selected candidates will receive a fixed salary of Rs. 18,000 per month for the initial 11-month contractual period.
• After 11 months, if you are re-engaged, you will get a 6% lumpsum enhancement in your salary.
• There is a possibility of absorption into regular posts as per the Board's regulations.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in multiple stages:

1. Common Recruitment Test (CRT 2026): A written exam will be conducted for all eligible applicants. The detailed exam pattern will be published separately by ASSEB.
2. Document Verification: Candidates shortlisted based on CRT scores and bonus marks will be called for verification of all original documents.
3. Skill Test: You will be tested on practical skills relevant to the applied post.
4. Computer Test / Tally Test: A hands-on computer proficiency test, including Tally for Accounts Assistant candidates.

Bonus marks will be awarded during selection for higher qualifications (MCA/CA Inter) and relevant government work experience, as specified in the notification.
