ACTREC Project Technical Assistant Recruitment 2026

Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC), a unit of Tata Memorial Centre under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, has released advertisement No. ACTREC/Advt-92/2026 dated 12 May 2026 for the post of Project Technical Assistant on a project basis. ACTREC is one of India's leading cancer research centres located at Kharghar, Navi Mumbai. Selection is by physical interview — there is no written exam. The initial duration is 6 months, extendable based on work progress. Postgraduates in life sciences with hands-on lab experience in oncology are encouraged to apply.

Why Apply for This Role?

This role offers a strong starting point if you want to build a career in cancer research, radiation biology or haematology. Working at ACTREC gives you exposure to advanced lab techniques, peer-reviewed publication opportunities, and a research environment that includes scientists from radiation oncology, molecular biology and clinical oncology. Many ACTREC project staff have gone on to pursue Ph.D. programmes or move into senior research roles in India and abroad. While the post is on a project basis with an initial 6-month tenure, the experience is highly valued in the cancer research community.

The role is part of an active research programme studying how ionising radiation affects haemato-lymphoid malignancies — a group of cancers that originate in the blood, bone marrow and lymph nodes. You will work alongside scientists and lab researchers on a day-to-day basis, contributing to a project that combines radiation biology with haematology/oncology research. ACTREC, being a Grant-in-aid Institution of the Department of Atomic Energy, has world-class infrastructure for radiation and cell biology research, making it a strong starting point for a research career in cancer biology.
