About This Job

ACTREC, Tata Memorial Centre is inviting applications for its 2-Year HBNI Certified Fellowship 2026 across 11 cancer specialties in Navi Mumbai. If you hold an MD / DNB / DM / MCh / MS / MDS in the relevant field, you can apply online. The monthly stipend ranges from Rs. 1,33,623 to Rs. 1,45,530 (gross). The fellowship starts on 1 August 2026 and the last date to apply is 19 June 2026.

ACTREC HBNI Certified Fellowship Recruitment 2026

Tata Memorial Centre (TMC) - ACTREC, Kharghar, Navi Mumbai is offering 2-Year HBNI Certified Fellowships for Indian Nationals in 11 cancer-care specialties. These fellowships are awarded by Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI), a Deemed University under the Department of Atomic Energy. The fellowship begins on 1 August 2026. This is a strong opportunity for medical postgraduates who want advanced training in oncology at one of India's top cancer institutes. You must submit a separate online application for each fellowship you want.

Onco-Anaesthesia and PainMD (Anaesthesiology) or equivalent PG degree

All degrees must be recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC).

Who Can Apply?

  • Nationality: Only Indian Nationals can apply.
  • Qualification: You need the PG/super-specialty degree listed for your chosen fellowship (MD / DNB / DM / MCh / MS / MDS), recognized by NMC.
  • Registration: If selected, you must register with the Maharashtra Medical Council.
  • Result-awaited candidates may apply but must declare their degree passing on the day of the MCQ/VIVA.
  • Serving government/PSU candidates must upload a No Objection Certificate (NOC) and bring the original to the MCQ/interview.

Age Limit

  • Maximum age: 40 years as on 31 July 2026.
  • Age Relaxation: SC/ST get 5 years, OBC get 3 years, and Physically Handicapped get 10 years.

Stipend

  • MS / MD / DNB holders: Rs. 1,33,623 per month (gross) in the 1st year and Rs. 1,36,269 per month in the 2nd year.
  • MCh / DM / DrNB holders: Rs. 1,45,530 per month (gross) in both years.
  • Sharing accommodation may be provided subject to availability; hostel charges are deducted from the stipend.

Application Fee and HBNI Fees

  • Online application fee: Rs. 1,000 (paid by Debit Card / Credit Card / UPI). Non-refundable.
  • HBNI University fees: Selected fellows pay HBNI fees as per existing rules. At joining you pay Admission fees and Library Deposit of Rs. 9,500 and Enrollment fees of Rs. 9,000 online to HBNI.
  • The remaining Rs. 2,15,000 (Tuition, Appraisal, Examination, Convocation) is deducted from your stipend in 10 monthly installments of Rs. 21,500.
  • If you discontinue or resign during the fellowship, all fees paid are forfeited and a penalty of Rs. 5,00,000 + GST is levied.

Selection Process

Selection is through an entrance test and/or interview:

  1. MCQ Examination: Conducted only when the number of applicants for a post is more than three times the number of posts. For posts with fewer applicants than vacancies, there is no MCQ test.
  2. VIVA / Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for the interview.
  3. Document Verification: You must submit documentary proof of age, qualification, experience, caste, disability, and NOC.

Shortlisted candidate names for MCQ/VIVA are uploaded on the ACTREC website (jobs section). No TA/DA is paid for appearing in the MCQ/Interview.

How to Apply

  1. Go to the ACTREC fellowship application portal at actrec.gov.in.
  2. Register yourself and fill in the online application form completely.
  3. Upload your documents, certificates, and NOC (if applicable).
  4. Pay the application fee of Rs. 1,000 online.
  5. Submit a separate application for each fellowship you want before 19 June 2026, 5:30 PM.

No hard copy is required. Incomplete applications will be rejected.

Responsibilities

  • Train in the chosen cancer specialty under senior faculty at ACTREC and TMC
  • Provide clinical care to cancer patients in the assigned department
  • Assist in surgeries, procedures, diagnostics, and patient management
  • Attend academic sessions, seminars, and case discussions
  • Maintain proper patient records and follow hospital protocols
  • Complete HBNI fellowship academic requirements and examinations
  • Rotate across TMC centres as and when required

Minimum Qualification

MD / DNB / DM / MCh / MS / MDS in the relevant specialty, recognized by NMC (varies by fellowship)

Preferred Qualification

1 year relevant experience where specified per fellowship

Required Skills

Clinical training in the chosen oncology specialty, patient care, academic learning

18 - 40 years (as on 31 Jul 2026)

Exam Pattern

An MCQ examination is held only when the number of applicants for a fellowship is more than three times the number of posts. If fewer applications are received than the vacancies, there is no MCQ test for that fellowship.

Note: The Director (Academics), TMC decides which fellowships will have an MCQ test. No TA/DA is paid for appearing in the MCQ or interview.
