About This Job
Apply for 1 Deputy Director post in UIDAI, Mumbai on deputation. Govt/PSU officers eligible. Last date: 21 Aug 2026. Apply offline at uidai.gov.in.
UIDAI is looking to fill 1 Deputy Director post at its Regional Office in Mumbai on a deputation basis. This post is open only to serving Central Government, State/UT Government, PSU or Autonomous Body officers holding an equivalent grade — private candidates cannot apply. The last date to send your application is 21 August 2026. Selected officers will get a salary under Pay Level 11 (Rs. 67,700 to Rs. 2,08,700 per month) for a deputation term of up to 5 years.
Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) Deputy Director Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), the statutory body that issues Aadhaar numbers and runs Aadhaar authentication across the country, has released a circular inviting applications for 1 Deputy Director post at its Regional Office, Mumbai. The post will be filled on deputation (Foreign Service terms), which means only serving government or PSU officers at the right grade can apply — this is not a fresh recruitment for graduates or private-sector candidates. If you are already working in a Central or State Government department, a PSU, or an autonomous body and meet the eligibility below, this is a good career move into UIDAI's HR and administration setup. UIDAI regularly rotates such deputation posts across its Head Office and Regional Offices, so an officer selected here will work directly on Aadhaar enrolment, authentication and grievance-handling operations for the Mumbai region.
Who Can Apply?
For Central Government Officers:
- You should be holding an analogous post on regular basis in Pay Level 11, OR
- Have 3 years of regular service in Pay Level 10 (Rs. 56,100 – Rs. 1,77,500), OR
- Have 5 years of regular service in Pay Level 9 (Rs. 53,100 – Rs. 1,67,800), OR
- Have 6 years of regular service in Pay Level 8 (Rs. 47,600 – Rs. 1,51,100)
For State/UT Government, PSU or Autonomous Body Officers:
- You should be holding a regular post in the corresponding grade with the requisite experience.
- The notification lists equivalent pay scales for staff from Public Sector Banks and PSUs — for example, Scale-IV officers in LIC (Rs. 72,115 - 1,07,820) and Manager/Scale-III officers in Public Sector Banks (with four years' experience) are treated as equivalent to Pay Level 11 for this post.
Desirable Qualifications:

- Basic skills of working in a computerized office environment

- You can continue your medical facility under the Central Government Health Scheme through your parent organisation, or use UIDAI's own Medical Reimbursement Scheme.
- If your pay structure or Dearness Allowance pattern is different from UIDAI's, only your pay will be protected, not other perquisites.
