IDRBT Linux Administrator Recruitment 2026: Overview

Institute for Development and Research in Banking Technology (IDRBT) is hiring Linux Administrator and Linux Associate Administrator or System Software Engineer professionals for its IT Infrastructure team. These are full-time, on-site roles built around the complete Linux system lifecycle, from planning and installation to stable day-to-day operation. The work combines hands-on administration with infrastructure design, so you will be expected to solve live platform problems while also helping senior staff shape future architecture.

IDRBT supports technology used in a banking-focused environment, making reliability, security and repeatable operations central to this assignment. You will work across server platforms, network services, storage, authentication and automation rather than being limited to one narrow support queue. Cross-team coordination is a major part of the role, particularly when applications, databases, networks and security controls meet on the same system.

Posts and Disciplines

  • Linux Administrator: the more experienced profile covers infrastructure planning, design decisions, complex troubleshooting and ownership of production Linux services.
  • Linux Associate Administrator or System Software Engineer: this profile supports builds, configuration, routine maintenance, scripting and user-facing technical issues while working with senior administrators.

Post-wise Duties

Linux Administrator

You will guide server installation, configuration, patching and upgrades across RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian or SUSE environments. The role also involves evaluating infrastructure changes, resolving operating-system faults and keeping web, directory, storage and security services dependable.

You may design standard operating procedures and automation that make repetitive work safer. Ansible, Puppet, Chef and scripting can be used to improve deployment consistency, while monitoring tools help you identify performance or security risks before they affect users.

Linux Associate Administrator or System Software Engineer

You will help manage users, groups, permissions, folders and common Linux services such as Apache, Tomcat, Nginx, DNS, FTP, LDAP and Samba. Routine work can include installing hardware and operating systems, distributing updated software and responding to technical support needs.

The associate role also contributes scripts in Bash, Python or Perl and supports network or storage services such as NFS, CIFS, FCP and iSCSI. You will collaborate with database, application, network and security teams when a fault crosses system boundaries.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Work arrangement: the official role page describes the positions as full-time and on-site.
  • Operational scope: the assignment can cover installation, optimisation, integration, backup, recovery, security and upgrades throughout a system's lifecycle.
  • Security focus: you are expected to keep operating systems and related infrastructure software stable, current and secure.
  • Professional development: IDRBT says the team offers exposure to enterprise-scale Linux environments and support for Linux certifications.
  • Flexibility: the page mentions flexible arrangements where applicable, but does not promise remote work for every selected person.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, patch and upgrade Linux servers and related software
  • Manage users, groups, permissions, directories and system services
  • Monitor server performance, capacity and security for emerging risks
  • Troubleshoot operating-system, network, storage and application-service faults
  • Automate repeatable administration work with Bash, Python or configuration tools
  • Prepare and update standard operating procedures for system activities
  • Coordinate infrastructure changes with database, network, security and application teams
  • Keep supported Linux platforms and distributed software current and stable
