National Institute of Technology Silchar (NIT Silchar) has announced the written exam date for 23 Technical Assistant posts. The exam will be held on 7 March 2026 at the NIT Silchar campus in Assam.

Salary

Level 6: Rs. 35,400 to Rs. 1,12,400 (7th CPC) + DA, HRA, TA

Written Exam

80 MCQs, 160 marks, 2 sections of 1 hour each.

• Section I: General Aptitude (40Q, qualifying only)
• Section II: Domain Knowledge (40Q, merit based)
• Negative marking: 0.5 per wrong answer

Exam Day

• Date: 7 March 2026
• Venue: NIT Silchar campus, Assam
• Reporting: 08:30 AM

• Help with laboratory setup, maintenance and daily operations
• Operate and maintain technical equipment and instruments
• Support faculty and students during lab sessions and research
• Keep records of lab equipment, stock and maintenance
• Follow safety rules and ensure proper use of lab facilities
• Handle basic IT and networking tasks (for CSE/ECE posts)
