CAU Multi-Post Recruitment 2026: Overview

Central Agricultural University, Imphal (CAU) is engaging Project Assistants, a Young Professional-I and a Field Assistant at the College of Agriculture in Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh. These are project appointments built around field research, farmer engagement and practical agricultural extension rather than regular university establishment posts.

The roles support two externally funded initiatives. The NMHS-backed project studies livelihood improvement and empowerment of tribal farmers through integrated farming systems and ICT applications in Arunachal Pradesh. The ICAR-CIRCOT-backed project explores indigenous fibre waste through mushroom-based technology for sustainable livelihoods and entrepreneurship, connecting laboratory and cultivation work with farmer-facing activities.

This combined notice suits graduates from agriculture, horticulture, science, life science or computer-application backgrounds, depending on the role. Pasighat is the interview and institutional base, while the Field Assistant assignment has a strong on-ground link to Tuting in Upper Siang district. You should choose the post that best matches both your subject background and your comfort with field-based work.

Posts and Disciplines

  • Project Assistant: supports the integrated-farming and ICT project through farmer-oriented field work, data handling, analysis and documentation.
  • Young Professional-I: works on the mushroom-based fibre-waste project, linking cultivation and spawn work with laboratory, training and extension activities.
  • Field Assistant: carries out surveys and farmer interaction around Tuting and helps implement agricultural or extension activities in the local field setting.

Post-wise Duties

Project Assistant

You will help organise farmer-facing field work, collect and clean project data and support analysis, records and agricultural extension documentation. Experience with ICT or computer applications can be useful when field information must be compiled for reports.

Young Professional-I

You will support mushroom cultivation and spawn-related activities, assist with laboratory and field work and help deliver farmer training and extension inputs. The work connects biological-science knowledge with the practical use of agricultural or fibre waste.

Field Assistant

You will work closely with farming communities, conduct field surveys and help with data collection and local implementation. Familiarity with Tuting and Upper Siang field conditions is especially relevant because the selected person is expected to stay in Tuting during the project period.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Temporary engagement: Every position is purely temporary, contractual and co-terminus with its project or the approved engagement period, whichever ends earlier.
  • No regular claim: Selection does not create a right to regular appointment or absorption in CAU, ICAR-CIRCOT, NMHS, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change or another organisation.
  • Performance condition: The university may end an appointment if the selected person's performance is unsatisfactory.
  • Field Assistant location: Preference goes to local candidates familiar with Tuting, its farming communities and field conditions, and the selected person must stay there during the project.
  • Interview expense: No TA or DA will be paid for attending the walk-in.

Application Submission Notes

The walk-in will be held at the Conference Hall, College of Agriculture, CAU, Pasighat. Bring the original records needed for verification along with one self-attested photocopy set, an updated biodata or CV and a recent passport-size photograph.

You may send your detailed biodata or CV in advance to sngomle29@gmail.com, but the notice still requires personal attendance at the walk-in. For a query about the project or interview, the notice lists 9774168919 as the contact number.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct project field work and collect reliable survey data
  • Coordinate with farmers and local communities during project activities
  • Compile, analyse and document research or extension information
  • Support agricultural demonstrations, training and outreach work
  • Maintain project records, field notes and supporting evidence
