APPSC Technical Posts Recruitment 2026: Overview

Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) is running a common examination for gazetted technical posts in the state government's agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, veterinary, sericulture and dairy services. This is a regular recruitment drive linking several specialist departments through one selection framework. The biggest share of opportunities is in field-facing agriculture and veterinary work, while the sericulture and dairy roles offer narrower specialist routes. You should choose the post that matches your degree and professional registration.

Posts and Disciplines

  • Agriculture Development Officer: works with the Department of Agriculture on crop programmes, field extension and technical support for farmers.
  • Horticulture Development Officer: supports fruit, vegetable, flower and plantation-crop development through the Department of Horticulture.
  • Veterinary Officer: serves the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department through animal healthcare, disease control and livestock-development work.
  • Assistant Director (Sericulture): handles technical and programme responsibilities connected with silkworm rearing, host plants and silk-sector development in the Textiles and Handicrafts Department.
  • Dairy Development Officer: supports dairy technology, milk quality and dairy-development activities under the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department.

Post-wise Duties

Agriculture Development Officer

You will help deliver agriculture schemes and field-extension work, guide cultivators on practical crop methods and report local production issues to the department.

Horticulture Development Officer

You will support horticulture programmes, visit growing areas, advise producers on crop management and track departmental activities in your assigned area.

Veterinary Officer

You will provide veterinary care and livestock-health support, assist disease-control work and keep the professional records needed by the department.

Assistant Director (Sericulture)

You will coordinate sericulture development work, offer technical guidance to field units and monitor activities covering host plants, silkworm rearing and silk production.

Dairy Development Officer

You will support dairy-development and quality work, help field units use suitable processing practices and maintain technical information for departmental programmes.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • State residency: You must hold a valid Arunachal Pradesh Permanent Residence Certificate and an Arunachal Pradesh Scheduled Tribe certificate.
  • Language: You need speaking ability in an indigenous tribal language of Arunachal Pradesh and working knowledge of local indigenous tribes; the notified state mechanism governs the language test.
  • Final-semester applicants: You may apply while completing the relevant course, but you must produce original proof of passing before the interview.
  • Veterinary registration: Veterinary Officer applicants must provide their Arunachal Pradesh State Veterinary Council registration by the notified verification or interview stage.
  • Provisional candidature: Admission at every examination stage remains provisional until the Commission and appointing department check your eligibility, certificates, character and medical fitness.
  • Screening option: APPSC may hold an objective recruitment test when the applicant pool is larger than the required shortlisting ratio; its marks do not enter the final merit order.

Application Submission Notes

You need an APPSC One Time Registration (OTR) profile before opening the online form. If you already have OTR credentials, use the existing account instead of registering again. Submit one complete application; if multiple forms are filed, the Commission will consider only the one carrying the highest Registration ID, and a fee paid under another ID will not be adjusted. Check every entry and upload before final submission because the notice does not allow extra time for later changes.

Responsibilities

  • Guide farmers, livestock owners or field units in the technical area assigned to the post
  • Inspect field activities and record crop, horticulture, animal-health, sericulture or dairy observations
  • Implement departmental schemes and explain approved practices to local beneficiaries
