CAU Pasighat Project Assistant & YP-I Recruitment 2026: Overview

Central Agricultural University, Imphal (CAU) is holding a walk-in interview to fill contractual project posts at its College of Agriculture, Pasighat campus in Arunachal Pradesh, spread across two externally funded projects — one under the National Mission on Himalayan Studies (NMHS) covering integrated farming systems and ICT for tribal farmers, and one funded by ICAR-CIRCOT on mushroom-based fibre-waste technology. These are short-term project engagements, not regular university appointments. The recruitment follows Notice No. COA/CAU/MTTC & VTC/PROJECT/2026-27/, and selection runs through document verification and a personal interview — there is no written exam. Candidates with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in agriculture, horticulture or a related science can attend. Pasighat is the headquarters of East Siang district in Arunachal Pradesh, and the college also runs undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes in agriculture alongside these two research projects. The college has run similar short-term project walk-ins at its other campuses this year as new externally funded studies begin.

Posts and Disciplines

• Project Assistant: engaged under the NMHS tribal-farming project at the Pasighat campus; open to graduates in Agriculture, Horticulture, Allied Sciences, Basic Sciences or Computer Applications.
• Young Professional-I (YP-I): engaged under the ICAR-CIRCOT mushroom fibre-waste project at Pasighat; open to graduates in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Botany, Microbiology, Biotechnology or Life Sciences with at least 60% marks.
• Field Assistant: posted separately at Tuting, Upper Siang District, away from the Pasighat campus, under the NMHS project; open to Science graduates.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Nature of engagement: all posts are purely temporary and contractual, tied to the life of the two funded projects.
• No absorption: selection carries no claim to a regular appointment or absorption in CAU, ICAR, MoEF&CC or any other organisation once the project ends.
• Field Assistant posting: the selected candidate must stay at Tuting for the project period; preference goes to local candidates familiar with the Tuting farming community.
• Interview costs: no TA/DA is paid for attending the walk-in interview.
• Experience: prior field, laboratory, ICT or farmer-extension experience is desirable for all three posts, though not mandatory for entry-level candidates.
