National Institute of Technology Silchar (NIT Silchar) has released a notification for 1 Project Associate (PA-I) post under an ANRF-ARG sponsored research project in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. The project, titled "Development of a Trifecta Hydro System," is funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) and is led by Principal Investigator Dr. Ojing Siram. This position is purely temporary — it runs for 12 months initially and can be extended based on project funds and your performance.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need a B.E./B.Tech or M.Tech degree in a Science, Engineering, or Technology stream, along with working knowledge of mechanical instrumentation, CAD, and ANSYS software.
• Preferred: A B.Tech/M.Tech specifically in Mechanical Engineering, plus good fluency in English, will count in your favour.
• Nationality: Only Indian citizens can apply for this post.

Age Limit

• You should not be older than 30 years as on the closing date of application (17 August 2026).
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST/OBC/Women/PwD candidates get age relaxation as per Government of India rules.

Salary

• If you qualify through CSIR-UGC NET (including Lectureship/Assistant Professorship) or GATE, or through a national-level exam conducted by a Central Government department or agency, you will get Rs. 37,000 per month plus HRA.
• If you do not fall under the above criteria, you will get Rs. 30,000 per month plus HRA.
• HRA is payable only if the Institute does not provide you accommodation.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based purely on an interview:

1. Screening of Applications: The Institute may restrict the number of candidates called for interview based on initial screening.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be informed of the date, time, and venue by email.

You must submit a No Objection Certificate from your current employer at the time of interview or joining, if you are already employed.
