IIT Gandhinagar Project Engineer II Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) has released Advertisement No. OTH/12389/Advt0248 for 1 Project Engineer II post under the Centre for Research Commercialization, Research & Development Office. This is a senior full stack developer role. You will design and build software solutions, monitor production systems, ensure backups and business continuity, and mentor junior engineers. The appointment is for 1 year, and only Indian nationals can apply.

Who Can Apply?

You can apply if you have any one of the following, along with experience as a software developer/engineer:

• Ph.D. or equivalent with at least 2 years of experience, OR
• M.Tech / M.S. / M.Phil. in a relevant discipline with at least 4 years of experience, OR
• B.Tech / B.E. / M.Sc. / M.C.A. in an appropriate discipline with at least 6 years of experience, OR
• B.C.A. / B.Sc. / B.A. in an appropriate discipline with at least 10 years of experience.

You need a minimum of 60% (or equivalent grade) from graduation onwards, and 55% in Class 10 and Class 12.

Skills You Need

• Strong coding in Python and Django
• Databases: PostgreSQL and MongoDB (design, replication and migration)
• Cloud: AWS or Azure
• API development, ETL and data pipelines
• Version control (Git), DevSecOps and Agile development
• Working knowledge of IT security controls, virtualization and business continuity
• Ability to write clean, maintainable code, lead technical discussions and mentor junior engineers

Desirable Experience

• Server management and administration
• Big data technologies like Hadoop and Spark
• Deploying cloud solutions and integrating systems and software
• Implementing software solutions on mobile platforms
• Collaborating with industry, educational institutions and government agencies
• Certification in software engineering or related tools

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 40 years as on the last date of application (15 July 2026)
• Relaxation: Age and/or qualification may be relaxed for exceptionally meritorious candidates, with prior approval of IIT Gandhinagar.

Salary

• You will get a consolidated salary of Rs. 63,000 to Rs. 1,00,000 per month.
• Your exact pay within this range depends on your qualifications and experience.

Selection Process

Selection is done in the following way:
