Central University of Rajasthan (CURAJ) Junior Research Fellow Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post
CURAJ, a central university located in Bandarsindri, Ajmer district, Rajasthan, has released Advertisement No. CURAJ/BIOMED/SC/ANRF/01 (dated 21 July 2026) for 1 Junior Research Fellow position under an ANRF (Government of India) sponsored project in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. The project, titled "Utilizing Point-of-Use Embedded Systems for the Detection of Fluorides, Calcium, and Heavy Metals in Healthcare-Related Disease Diagnostics," involves building low-cost, portable biosensor devices for water and health diagnostics. This is a purely time-bound position for 1 year, extendable based on performance, and suits engineering graduates interested in biosensors, IoT-based sensing, and healthcare diagnostics research.
Who Can Apply?
- Qualification: M.Tech / M.E. or an equivalent degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related field. A four-year Bachelor's degree or a five-year integrated degree in a related engineering discipline is also considered.
- Desirable Skills: Knowledge of sensor interfacing for chemical/biomedical sensing, IoT-based data acquisition and wireless communication (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, LoRa), signal conditioning, analog/digital electronics, PCB design, and programming in C/C++, Python, or MATLAB.
- Preferred Background: Understanding of water quality monitoring, biosensors, electrochemical sensing, and healthcare diagnostics related to fluoride, calcium, and heavy metal exposure, plus awareness of calibration and validation protocols for sensors.
Salary
- You will get a consolidated monthly fellowship of Rs. 37,000 plus HRA, as per ANRF rules.
- Accommodation: University hostel accommodation may be provided, subject to availability.
Selection Process
Selection for this position will be done in the following stages:
- Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted for interview based on merit. The project team can apply additional screening criteria if a large number of applications come in.
- Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview at the Department of Biomedical Engineering, CURAJ, in offline or online mode as informed to you. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
Shortlisted candidates will be informed only by email or phone — no separate interview call letter will be issued. Carry your original certificates and documents to the interview.

Responsibilities
- Conduct experiments on environmental analyte detection using fluorescence and UV-Vis spectrophotometry
- Design and test biosensors for detecting fluorides, calcium, and heavy metals in water/health samples
- Build a point-of-care embedded device for portable, low-cost diagnostic applications
- Interface sensors with IoT-based systems for wireless data acquisition
- Handle signal conditioning and PCB-level electronics for sensor prototypes
- Write code in C/C++, Python, or MATLAB for data analysis and device control
- Document experimental results and prepare periodic project reports
- Assist the Principal Investigator with day-to-day research project activities
