Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), a listed premier Miniratna Schedule 'A' Company of the Government of India, has released a vacancy notification for 1 Guarantee Engineer post on contract basis at its Ship Repair Facility in Karwar. Only Ex-Indian Navy personnel in the ranks of MCERA/MCME/CHERA/MCEAP/CHEAP/CHEAR/CHELP are eligible to apply. The contract tenure is for three years, extendable by two more years based on organisational requirement and your performance. This is a good opportunity for retired Navy engineering personnel to continue working in ship maintenance and repair with a leading shipyard.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) obtained in the Indian Navy.
• Experience: You must be an Ex-Indian Navy person in the ranks of MCERA/MCME/CHERA/MCEAP/CHEAP/CHEAR/CHELP with a minimum of 15 years of post-qualification experience in operation, maintenance and watchkeeping of marine equipment and systems on Naval Surface Ships/Submarines.
• Preferred: Knowledge of propulsion systems, Marine Main Engines, Gearboxes, HVAC, Sewage Treatment Plant, Oily Water Separator and Power Generation & Distribution systems is an advantage.
• Eligibility: This post is open only to Ex-Indian Navy Personnel.
• Posting: Your initial appointment will be at CSL, Kochi. You will then be posted to the Ship Repair Facility in Karwar or any other CSL unit/project site as required, and you may be transferred within different CSL units as per organisational needs.
• Reservation: Government of India directives on reservation apply as per category.

Age Limit

• The upper age limit is 50 years as on 4 September 2026 (you should be born on or after 5 September 1976).

Salary

• You will get a consolidated pay of Rs. 1,00,000 per month in the first year of the contract.
• The pay increases to Rs. 1,03,000 per month in the second year and Rs. 1,06,090 per month in the third year.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

The selection will be done in these stages:

1. Shortlisting: CSL scrutinises applications based on the certificates you upload in the online portal.
2. Certificate Verification: You must produce all original certificates for verification before the interview.
3. Personal Interview: Conducted for 100 marks. The rank list is prepared based on interview marks; ties are resolved by seniority in age.
