Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), a listed Miniratna Schedule 'A' company under the Government of India, has invited online applications from eligible engineering graduates and diploma holders for one-year Apprenticeship training under the Apprentices (Amendment) Act, 1973. There are 61 Graduate Apprentice seats across 8 engineering disciplines and 78 Technician (Diploma) Apprentice seats across 7 disciplines. Who Can Apply?

For Graduate Apprentices (Category I):

• Qualification: A degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognised university, in the relevant discipline (Electrical & Electronics, Mechanical, Electronics & Communication, Civil, Computer Science/IT, Fire & Safety, Marine, or Naval Architecture & Shipbuilding).
• Passing year: You must have passed in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 or 2026.

For Technician (Diploma) Apprentices (Category II):

• Qualification: A Diploma in Engineering or Technology from a State Board/Council of Technical Education or university, in the relevant discipline, or a Diploma in Commercial Practice for the Commercial Practice seats.
• Passing year: You must have passed in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 or 2026.

Domicile: Only candidates who are domicile of Kerala are eligible to apply. Candidates who have already completed or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act (in any government, PSU or private organisation) are not eligible.

Marks calculation: If your university reports results as CGPA or Grade Points instead of percentage, and there is no official conversion formula, your Aggregate Grade Point will be multiplied by 10 to arrive at your equivalent percentage of marks. Reservation: Government of India rules on reservation for SC/ST/OBC and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) will be followed strictly while filling these seats.

Age Limit

• You should be above 18 years old as on 1 September 2026. No upper age limit is mentioned in the notification.

Salary

• Graduate Apprentices: Rs. 15,000 per month stipend.
• Technician (Diploma) Apprentices: Rs. 13,000 per month stipend.
• CSL will not provide boarding or lodging during the apprenticeship training period.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based purely on merit — there is no written exam or skill test:

1. Shortlisting: Candidates are shortlisted based on the percentage of marks scored in their qualifying degree/diploma, for the respective discipline.
2. Tie-breaker: If two or more candidates score the same percentage, seniority (earlier passing year) decides the merit order.
3. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates are informed by email/website notice for certificate verification (call letters are not sent by post).

2. If you're a new user, click Student, then Student Register, and complete the application form to generate your Enrolment Number.
3. If you already have an old NATS/MHRD account, activate it using the forgot password option and log in.

5. Click Apply — your status will show as "applied" once submitted.
