UIDAI Director Recruitment 2026 — 1 Post
UIDAI is the statutory authority responsible for issuing Aadhaar numbers to all residents of India. It works under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). This recruitment is for the Director post at the Ranchi Regional Office, to be filled on deputation basis for a period of 5 years (minimum 3 years). Who Can Apply?
Essential Eligibility
You must be a serving government officer with at least 5 years of government service. You can apply if you meet any one of these conditions:
- Central Government officers holding analogous posts (Director-level) on a regular basis in the parent cadre or department
- Central Government officers with 3 years of regular service in Pay Matrix Level 12 (Rs. 78,800 - 2,09,200) or above
- Officers from a State or Union Territory Government, a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU), or an Autonomous Organisation holding regular posts in corresponding grades with the required experience
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience in monitoring and implementation of large-scale projects with multiple ecosystem partners
- Experience in budget management, contract management, coordination, establishment, administration, and procurement of goods and services
- Experience in e-governance and ICT-related projects

- Maximum age: 56 years as on the closing date of application (13 May 2026)
Salary
- Pay Matrix Level 13 under the 7th Central Pay Commission
- Monthly pay range: Rs. 1,23,100 to Rs. 2,15,900
- During deputation, your salary, allowances, medical benefits, and travelling allowance will be governed by UIDAI's own regulations (Appointment of Officers and Employees Regulations, 2020 and Salary, Allowances and other Terms and Conditions of Service Regulations, 2020)
- Leave will follow the Central Civil Services (Leave) Rules, 1972
- Vehicle facility for commuting is provided for Director-level officers
- Medical facilities — you can continue with CGHS from your parent organization, or use UIDAI's Medical Reimbursement Scheme
Note: Since this is a non-technical post, technical allowance is not applicable.
Selection Process

Responsibilities
- Handle regional operations and oversee the Aadhaar enrollment and update activities in the Ranchi region
- Monitor and implement large-scale Aadhaar-related projects involving multiple stakeholders and ecosystem partners
- Manage budget allocation, contract management, and procurement of goods and services for the regional office
- Work with state government agencies, registrars, and enrollment agencies to ensure smooth Aadhaar service delivery
- Follow UIDAI policies and guidelines for authentication, data security, and privacy compliance
- Assist the Deputy Director General in coordinating with UIDAI Head Office on policy matters and reporting
- Prepare reports on enrollment targets, grievance resolution, and operational performance of the regional office
- Manage e-governance and ICT initiatives at the regional level to improve service efficiency

Central/State Govt officer holding analogous post or with 3 years at Pay Level 12 and 5 years govt service
Preferred Qualification
Experience in large-scale project implementation, budget/contract management, e-governance and ICT projects
