UIDAI is inviting applications for 1 Deputy Director post at its Technology Centre in Bengaluru, Karnataka, to be filled purely on deputation (Foreign Service terms) basis. This post is open only to serving Central/State Government, PSU, or Autonomous Organisation officers — private candidates cannot apply. The last date to apply through proper channel has been extended to 24 July 2026, though eligibility (age and experience) is assessed as on 16 June 2026. The post carries Pay Matrix Level-11 (Rs. 67,700 to Rs. 2,08,700 per month).

Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) Deputy Director Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

UIDAI's Human Resource Division has invited applications to fill 1 Deputy Director vacancy at its Technology Centre in Bengaluru, originally notified via a circular dated 17 April 2026 and now extended through a fresh circular dated 23 June 2026. This is a deputation post — only officers already working in the Central Government, a State/UT Government, a Public Sector Undertaking, or an Autonomous Organisation can apply. If you have already applied against the earlier circular, you do not need to apply again.

Who Can Apply?

  • Qualification: Officers from the Central Government holding an analogous post on a regular basis in their parent cadre/department, OR with 3 years' regular service in Pay Matrix Level 10 (Rs. 56,100 - Rs. 1,77,500), OR 5 years in Level-9 (Rs. 53,100 - Rs. 1,67,800), OR 6 years in Level-8 (Rs. 47,600 - Rs. 1,51,100).
  • Or: Officers from a State/UT Government, PSU, or Autonomous Organisation holding a regular post in the corresponding grade with the requisite experience.
  • Minimum Service: Only officers who have completed at least 5 years of government service can apply.
  • Residual Service: You need a minimum residual service of 3 years as on the closing date.
  • Desirable: Experience in Administration, Legal, Establishment, HR, Finance, Accounts, Budgeting, Vigilance, Procurement, Planning & Policy, Project Implementation & Monitoring, or E-Governance, plus basic skills of working in a computerized office environment.
  • Note: Since this is a deputation-basis post, private candidates are not eligible.

Age Limit

  • You should be below 56 years of age as on the eligibility closing date, i.e. 16 June 2026.

Salary

  • The Deputy Director post carries Pay Matrix Level-11 of the 7th Central Pay Commission (Rs. 67,700 to Rs. 2,08,700 per month).
  • During your deputation, salary, allowances, and joining time will be governed by the UIDAI (Appointment of Officers and Employees) Regulations, 2020 and related UIDAI service rules.
  • If your parent organisation's pay structure is dissimilar, only your pay will be protected — not other perquisites — as per DoPT norms.

Terms of Deputation:

  • The deputation period is 5 years. Your lending organisation may relieve you earlier, subject to a minimum of 3 years.
  • Your leave will be regulated by the Central Civil Services (Leave) Rules, 1972.
  • You can continue availing Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) facilities from your parent organisation, or opt for UIDAI's Medical Reimbursement Scheme instead.

Selection Process

Selection for this deputation post is done through document screening — there is no written exam:

  1. Application through Proper Channel: Your application (Annex I) must be forwarded by your parent department/cadre controlling authority.
  2. Document Verification: Your application must include a certificate from the forwarding officer (Annex II) with cadre clearance, and attested copies of your ACRs/APARs for the last 5 years.
  3. Selection by UIDAI: UIDAI reviews all forwarded applications and selects the most suitable officer for the post.

Note: UIDAI reserves the right to withdraw this circular at any time without assigning any reason. Applications of officers whose services cannot be spared by their cadre controlling authority will not be forwarded.

  4. Make sure your application reaches UIDAI on or before 24 July 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee administration, legal, HR, finance, or e-governance functions assigned at UIDAI Technology Centre, Bengaluru
  • Manage budgeting, procurement, and vigilance matters related to the department
  • Support planning, policy formulation, and project implementation and monitoring
  • Coordinate with other government departments and agencies on Aadhaar-related matters
  • Supervise subordinate staff and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks
  • Maintain records, reports, and documentation as per UIDAI norms
  • Ensure compliance with UIDAI regulations and Government of India rules
