The Directorate of Sustainable Aquaculture (DSA) at TNJFU has opened applications for one Hatchery Technician post under the State Government-funded scheme on "Development of Breeding and Seed Production Technology of Pacu Fish to Enhance Farmers Income and Fish Production (Krishnagiri District)". This is a purely temporary engagement that is co-terminus with the project. Freshers with the right Master's degree and some farm exposure can apply.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must hold a Master's Degree in Aquaculture, or Fish Nutrition and Feed Technology, or Genetics and Breeding, or M.Sc. (Aquaculture), or M.Sc. (Life Science).
• Experience: You must have farm experience in aquaculture or fish breeding work.
• Job condition: The job involves halting at the hatchery during breeding cycles. You should be ready for on-site stay during peak operations.

Salary

• Consolidated pay of Rs. 25,000 per month
• This is a fixed amount — no DA, HRA or other allowances are payable
• The engagement is purely temporary and tied to the duration of the scheme

Selection Process

Selection is based on the following stages:

2. Online Interview: Shortlisted candidates will receive the interview date and online meeting link via email.

There is no written exam. Selection is purely interview-based.

• Handle daily hatchery operations for Pacu fish breeding and seed production at KBCeSA, Barur, Krishnagiri
• Manage brooder stock, induced breeding cycles, and larval rearing under expert guidance
• Monitor water quality parameters and maintain hatchery records
• Stay at the hatchery during breeding cycles to oversee round-the-clock operations
• Assist scientists in data collection, sampling, and experiment documentation
• Prepare feed, run feeding schedules, and track growth performance of seed
• Maintain hygiene, biosecurity, and equipment in good working condition
