Tata Memorial Centre (TMC) Engineer (Electrical) Recruitment 2026

Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), a Grant-in-Aid institution under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, has released a notification for the post of Engineer (Electrical) on a contract basis for its client, Tata Memorial Hospital, located at Dr. Ernest Borges Road, Parel, Mumbai - 400012. The position is being filled through the facility management contractor M/s. A-1 Facility and Property Managers Pvt. Ltd., and the contract is initially for a period of two years.

This is a hands-on technical role where you will be responsible for keeping the hospital's critical electrical infrastructure running smoothly. Experienced electrical engineers who have worked on large hospital, institutional, or industrial projects will find this role a strong fit, since the hospital campus runs 24x7 and depends on uninterrupted power and safety systems.

Tata Memorial Centre runs several cancer care units across India, including Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai, ACTREC in Navi Mumbai, and Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospitals in cities such as Varanasi, Muzaffarpur, Mullanpur, and Visakhapatnam. Keeping a large, always-on hospital campus like Tata Memorial Hospital running smoothly needs a dedicated facilities and engineering team, and this Engineer (Electrical) role is a key part of that team on the Mumbai campus. Since the post is managed through the outsourcing agency rather than TMC directly, your day-to-day reporting, HR processes, and contract terms will follow the agency's own policies, even though your actual work will be inside Tata Memorial Hospital.

Who Can Apply?

  • Qualification: You need a B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering (First Class) from an AICTE-approved college.
  • Experience: You must have at least 5 years of post-qualification experience in executing large hospital, institutional, or industrial projects.
  • Technical Knowledge: You should have thorough knowledge of internal and external electrical installations, HT/LT substations, transformers, HT/LT panels, and DG sets.
  • Technical Knowledge: You should also know how to handle lifts and escalators, central UPS systems, APFC panels, IP EPABX, CCTV, and fire and public address systems (FAS & PAS).
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS), nurse call systems, AV systems, and solar PV generation is required, along with all high-side and low-side electrical systems used in a hospital setup.
  • Why it matters: A hospital like TMH runs operation theatres, ICUs, and diagnostic equipment around the clock, so your ability to prevent and quickly fix electrical faults directly affects patient care.

Salary

  • Selected candidates will get a consolidated pay of Rs. 80,000 to Rs. 1,00,000 per month, depending on your experience and interview performance.
  • This is a contract role hired through a facility management agency, so the pay structure follows the agency's own consolidated pay policy rather than a government pay scale.
  • The salary band makes this one of the better-paying contract engineering roles currently open at a government-linked healthcare institution in Mumbai.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in the following stages:

  1. Application Screening: Your application form will be screened based on the information you provide about your qualification and experience.
  2. Interview and Trade Test: Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview and a trade test to check your practical electrical skills.
  3. Document Verification: You must carry your updated resume and original documents (educational certificates, experience certificates, Aadhaar card, PAN card) along with one set of photocopies to the interview.

Note: The trade test is meant to check your hands-on ability to diagnose and fix real electrical faults, not just your theory knowledge, so it helps to revisit practical troubleshooting before the interview. Incomplete applications will be summarily rejected, and accommodation will not be provided for outstation candidates.

How to Apply

  1. Go to tmc.gov.in/FTA/frm_Registration.aspx to access the online application form.
  2. Register with a valid email ID and mobile number.
  3. Fill in your personal, educational, and experience details carefully.
  4. Upload the required documents where prompted.
  5. Submit your application online before the last date and keep a copy of the confirmation for your records.

No hard copy applications will be accepted, and applications received after the due date will not be considered. All correspondence about the interview will be done through email only, so check your inbox regularly after applying.
