Telangana State Public Service Commission (TGPSC) is hiring 7 Town Planning Assistants in the Town and Country Planning Department. Telangana State Public Service Commission (TGPSC) Town Planning Assistant Recruitment 2026 - 7 Posts

TGPSC has released Notification No. 06/G/TP/2026, dated 10 July 2026 for 7 Town Planning Assistant posts in the Town and Country Planning Department. The posts are split between 2 State-level posts (Post Code 01) filled purely on statewide merit, and 5 Multi-Zonal posts (Post Code 02) where local reservation applies. Selection is based only on a written exam — there is no interview for this recruitment. Both freshers and experienced Planning graduates can apply.

Vacancy Breakdown

• Post Code 01 - State Level: 2 posts (statewide merit, no local reservation)
• Post Code 02 - Multi-Zone I & II: 5 posts (95% local reservation applicable)

Both post codes carry the same qualification and pay scale — only the reservation rules and posting zone differ. Reserved-category vacancies also exist within each post code for SC candidates. Any unfilled or non-joining vacancies from this recruitment will be carried forward to the next TGPSC recruitment, and there is no waiting list — only the vacancies notified now will be filled through this exam.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have a B.Planning or B.Tech (Planning) degree.
• Qualification Date: You must already hold this qualification, with the result declared, as on 10 July 2026 (the notification date). Just appearing for the final exam is not enough.
• Citizenship: You must be a citizen of India.
• Local Candidate Rule: For Post Code 02 (Multi-Zonal), you need to meet the local candidate rules for the zone you apply to. Post Code 01 has no local reservation — it's open statewide.
• Equivalent Qualification: If your degree isn't an exact match but you believe it's equivalent to B.Planning/B.Tech (Planning), TGPSC's Expert Committee will review and decide — their decision is final.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 44 years old as on 01 July 2026.
• If you were born after 01 July 2008, you don't meet the minimum age. If you were born before 02 July 1982, you exceed the maximum age.
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST/BC/EWS candidates get 5 years. Persons with Disabilities get 10 years. Telangana government employees get up to 5 years based on service length. Ex-servicemen get 3 years plus their service length.
• No one above 61 years (superannuation age) can apply, even after age relaxation.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a salary in the scale of Rs. 51,320 to Rs. 1,27,310 per month as per Telangana's revised pay scales.
• You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per Telangana Government rules.

Application Fee

• OC / BC candidates: Rs. 1,000 application processing fee
• SC / ST / PwD candidates: Rs. 500 application processing fee
• All applicants: Rs. 120 examination fee (unemployed candidates are exempt from this fee)
• Government employees must pay the examination fee even though they may otherwise be treated as exempt.
• Payment mode: Online only, through Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card or UPI.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in 3 stages:

1. Written Exam (Objective Type): Conducted in CBRT or OMR mode with 2 papers — Paper-I: General Studies and General Abilities (150 questions, 150 marks) and Paper-II: Planning at Degree Level (150 questions, 300 marks). Total 450 marks, with 150 minutes given for each paper.
2. Document Verification: TGPSC verifies your original certificates before finalizing your candidature.
3. Medical Examination: You need to be medically fit for appointment.

You need 40% marks (OC/EWS/Sportspersons), 35% (BC) or 30% (SC/ST/PH) to qualify in the written exam. Paper-I is bilingual (English and Telugu), while Paper-II is in English only. The exam will be held at centres in Hyderabad, Karimnagar, Khammam, Warangal and Nizamabad. There is no interview for this recruitment.

After the exam, TGPSC publishes the answer key on its website. If you disagree with an answer, you can raise an objection online by paying Rs. 500 per question — this amount is refunded if your objection is accepted. The final marks are calculated to the third decimal place to prepare the merit list.

How to Apply

2. Complete One Time Registration (OTR) to get your TGPSC ID, if you don't already have one.
3. Log in with your TGPSC ID and date of birth, then verify your OTR details.
4. Select your preferred examination centre.
5. Preview your application and pay the fee online (Net Banking/Debit Card/Credit Card/UPI).
6. Download and save your submitted application PDF for future reference.
