About This Job
Tezpur University is hiring 5 temporary project staff under a MoEF&CC sponsored research project in the Department of Environmental Science. Tezpur University JRF Field Assistant Recruitment 2026 - 5 Posts
Tezpur University, a Central University in Assam, has released Memo No. DoRD/Env.Sc./AD/20-629/94-A dated 27 May 2026 for project staff under Prof. Ashalata Devi, Department of Environmental Science. The project title is Reassessment, Revival, and Recognition of Bio-Resources, Handlooms, and Handicrafts of Indigenous Tribes of Manipur for Sustainable Livelihood.
The project focuses on bioresources, handlooms, handicrafts and sustainable livelihood work in Manipur. The selected staff may need to work in field and laboratory settings, especially for documentation, surveys, community knowledge and conservation-related activities.

- Computer skills: Basic skills in MS Office, data compilation, file handling and office management are preferred.
Other Conditions
- Manipur preference: Candidates from Manipur will be given preference.
- NOC: If you are employed or doing a Ph.D., you must submit a No Objection Certificate from your employer or Ph.D. supervisor.

Responsibilities
- Assist in field and laboratory work for the MoEF&CC project on Manipur bioresources and crafts
- Conduct surveys and collect data related to traditional handlooms, handicrafts and bioresource use
- Document community knowledge, field observations and project records in an organized format
- Support GIS, remote sensing, data analysis or office work as relevant to the assigned post
- Handle specimen collection, storage, processing and preservation work where required
- Coordinate with the Principal Investigator, project team and community stakeholders during field activities
- Prepare reports, digital records and supporting material for project review and documentation
