Posts and Disciplines

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Nature of appointment: Both levels are offered on deputation rather than direct recruitment. You must therefore be a serving officer and have the application supported by your current controlling authority.
• Tenure: RVNL states a five-year duration. The term is subject to government approval for exemption from immediate absorption rules, so the appointment order will govern the final arrangement.
• Substantive status: Eligibility is tied to the grade you hold substantively and to the qualifying service under the applicable route. An officiating assignment should not be treated as a substitute for the notified substantive requirement.
• Location preference: The proforma includes a station-choice field for Bhubaneswar, Chennai and Rishikesh. Your choice helps RVNL consider placement but does not guarantee a particular station.
• Preferred background: RVNL gives preference to experience in infrastructure project planning, execution and management gained in CPSEs, PSUs, NCRTC, metro rail corporations, government companies or government organisations.
• Parent-office action: The controlling authority or zonal railway must forward the service-record package within the separate period allowed after the main deadline. Early internal follow-up matters because your emailed advance copy alone does not complete the proper-channel requirement.
