The Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Guwahati has invited applications for engagement of one Part-time Bank's Medical Consultant (BMC) on a purely contract basis with fixed hourly remuneration. The doctor will run two dispensaries — one at the RBI Main Office on Station Road, Panbazar and the other at the RBI Officer's Colony at Christian Basti, Guwahati. This is a 3-year contract that will not be renewed, so it is a clean fixed-term engagement.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have an MBBS degree from a university recognised by the Medical Council of India (allopathic system).
• Desirable: A post-graduate degree in General Medicine is an added advantage.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of practice in any hospital or clinic.
• Location: Your dispensary or place of residence must be within 10-15 km of the RBI Main Office or RBI Officer's Colony in Guwahati.
• Category: Only Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates can apply.

Salary

• Fixed hourly remuneration of Rs. 1,000 per hour for the full 3-year contract period.
• Out of the total monthly remuneration, Rs. 1,000 per month is treated as conveyance expenses.
• Reimbursement of mobile charges of Rs. 1,000 per month.
• Total duty hours per week: about 5 hours at the Main Office (Mon-Fri, 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM) and about 13 hours at the Officer's Colony (Mon-Fri evenings + Saturday morning).

Selection Process

Selection is by interview only — there is no written exam.

1. Interview: RBI Guwahati will shortlist eligible candidates and conduct a personal interview.
2. Medical Test: The shortlisted candidate must clear a medical fitness test (cost borne by the candidate).
3. Agreement: The selected candidate will sign a formal contract with the Bank before joining.
