Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot has released Advertisement No. BFU-26/26 to fill 630 Medical Officer (General) posts under the Department of Health and Family Welfare (DHS), Government of Punjab. These 630 vacancies reportedly include 540 fresh posts and 90 backlog posts, making this one of the largest doctor recruitment drives run by BFUHS in recent years. Punjab's community health centres, rural dispensaries and district hospitals badly need MBBS doctors, so this is a great chance to get a stable, permanent government medical job in Punjab. Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must hold an MBBS degree from a university or institution recognised by the Medical Council of India (National Medical Commission).

• Reservation: Posts are open under General, EWS, BC, SC, Ex-Servicemen (ESM), Physically Handicapped, Sports and Freedom Fighter categories, as per Punjab government reservation rules. 50% of Scheduled Caste vacancies are first offered to Mazbhi Sikh/Balmiki candidates as per the state government's reservation policy, and only if such candidates are not available will other Scheduled Caste candidates be considered.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 37 years old as on 1 January 2026.

Salary

• Selected Medical Officers will get a starting salary of Rs. 53,100 per month under Level-9 of the 7th Central Pay Commission.

• Your pay will increase every year as per your annual increment and further pay commission revisions during your government service.

Selection Process
