RailTel Corporation of India Ltd., one of the largest neutral telecom infrastructure providers in the country with a Pan-India optic fiber network along railway tracks, has announced apprenticeship training opportunities under the Apprentices Act, 1961 at locations across India. The engagement covers 32 Graduate Engineer and 8 Diploma Engineer apprentice positions in fields like Electronics & Telecommunication, Computer Science, and Electrical Engineering. Preference will be given to candidates from Government institutions, and the apprenticeship does not guarantee any regular employment with RailTel.

Postings are tentatively available at the Corporate Office (New Delhi/Gurgaon) and across the Northern, Eastern, Southern, and Western Regions, covering cities like Delhi, Jaipur, Lucknow, Kolkata, Patna, Ranchi, Secunderabad, Chennai, Mumbai, Nagpur, and more. You may opt for any location of your convenience, subject to RailTel's presence there.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification (Graduate Engineer): Full-time regular 4-year Graduation in Engineering/Technology from an AICTE-approved college.
• Qualification (Diploma Engineer): Full-time regular 3-year Diploma in Engineering/Technology from an AICTE-approved college.
• Stream: Electronics & Telecommunication, Telecommunication, Computer Science & Engineering/IT, Electrical Engineering, or Electronics Engineering (or any combination where Electronics is a main branch).
• Minimum Marks: You need at least 60% aggregate marks in your qualifying degree/diploma.
• Not Eligible: Candidates with 1 or more years of work experience or training after their qualification, or those who completed their degree/diploma more than 3 years ago.
• Not Eligible: Candidates who already completed an apprenticeship, terminated one mid-way, or are currently pursuing one with another organization.
• Not Eligible: Qualifications obtained through distance learning or part-time mode.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 27 years old as on the date of this notification (28 July 2026).
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST/OBC candidates get relaxation as per Presidential/Government directives.

Salary

• Graduate Engineer Apprentice: Rs. 14,000 per month (RailTel share Rs. 9,500 + Government DBT share Rs. 4,500).
• Diploma Engineer Apprentice: Rs. 12,000 per month (RailTel share Rs. 8,000 + Government DBT share Rs. 4,000).
• No other benefits, facilities, or allowances apply apart from this consolidated stipend.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection follows this process:

1. Online Application: Submit your application through the NATS 2.0 portal.
2. Merit List: A region/state/location-wise merit list is prepared based on your qualifying marks, with preference given to Government institution pass-outs.
3. Shortlisting: Candidates are shortlisted based on the merit list and/or an interview, as required.
4. Medical Fitness: Only candidates found medically fit as per RailTel's norms are considered for engagement.

2. Follow the application process explained in the NATS Apprentice student manual.
3. Fill in the online application form with your personal and academic details.
4. Upload your certificate showing CGPA or percentage in the "Upload Certificate" column.
5. If only CGPA is mentioned, also upload the CGPA-to-percentage conversion certificate along with the signed undertaking (Annexure 1) as a single PDF under 1 MB.
