RailTel JGM/Senior DGM Recruitment 2026: Overview

RailTel Corporation of India Limited (RailTel), the telecom and ICT public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Railways, has issued Vacancy Notice No. 17/2026 for one Joint General Manager (E6) / Senior Deputy General Manager (E5) post in its Northern Region. It is a deputation-only opening for IRSSE and Gazetted Signal and Telecom (S&T) officers of the Railways.

The key highlight is the assignment: you will coordinate RailTel's work on the Kavach project of West Central Railway (WCR), India's home-grown automatic train protection system. Posts and Disciplines

• Joint General Manager (E6): for Junior Administrative Grade (JAG) IRSSE officers with long Group 'A' service behind them.
• Senior Deputy General Manager (E5): for JAG or Senior Scale officers with fewer years of gazetted service.
• One post only: both designations share a single vacancy; the level you join at depends on your grade and length of service.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Deputation tenure: Three years, or until RCIL is exempted from the rule of immediate absorption, whichever comes first.
• Minimum service: Only Group 'A' IRSSE and Gazetted S&T officers are considered; there is no re-employment route for retired officers in this notice.
• Absorption option: The application section refers to selection on a deputation/absorption basis, and the proforma on the careers page is titled for deputation and absorption.
• Cut-off date: Your age and eligibility are judged on the closing date for receiving applications.
