National Institute of Technology Mizoram (NIT Mizoram), an Institution of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, has published Advertisement No. NITMZ/R-1/NT/13/2026/550 dated 19 March 2026 for filling up 3 Non-Teaching positions at its Chaltlang campus in Aizawl. The institute offers UG, PG, and Ph.D programmes in Engineering, Science, and Humanities. Selection is purely through competitive written examination with no interview for Group B and C posts. Who Can Apply?

For Library and Information Assistant (Group B, Level 6):

• Essential: First Class Bachelor's degree in Science / Arts / Commerce from a recognised University AND Bachelor's degree in Library Science.
• Desirable: Post Graduate Diploma in Library Automation and Networking, PGDCA or equivalent from a recognised institution.

For Technician - Civil Engineering (Group C, Level 3):

• Option 1: Senior Secondary (10+2) with Science from a recognised Board with at least 60% marks.
• Option 2: Senior Secondary (10+2) from a recognised Board with at least 50% marks plus ITI Certificate of one year or more in an appropriate trade.
• Option 3: Secondary (10th) with at least 60% marks plus ITI Certificate of 2 years in an appropriate trade.
• Option 4: Diploma in Engineering of 3 years in Civil Engineering from a Government recognised Polytechnic / Institute.

For Junior Assistant (Group C, Level 3):

• Essential: Senior Secondary (10+2) from a recognised Board with a minimum typing speed of 35 WPM and proficiency in Computer Word Processing and Spread Sheet.
• Desirable: Proficiency in other computer skills; stenography skills.

Age Limit

• Library and Information Assistant: Not exceeding 30 years as on 20 April 2026.
• Technician: Not exceeding 27 years as on 20 April 2026.
• Junior Assistant: Not exceeding 27 years as on 20 April 2026.
• Minimum age is 18 years.
• Age relaxation: As per Government of India norms for SC/ST/OBC/PwD/Ex-Servicemen categories.

Salary

• Library and Information Assistant (Level 6): Basic pay starts at Rs. 35,400 per month (Pay range: Rs. 35,400 to Rs. 1,12,400).
• Technician (Level 3): Basic pay starts at Rs. 21,700 per month (Pay range: Rs. 21,700 to Rs. 69,100).
• Junior Assistant (Level 3): Basic pay starts at Rs. 21,700 per month (Pay range: Rs. 21,700 to Rs. 69,100).
• You will also receive DA, HRA, and other allowances as per Central Government rules.

• SC / ST: Rs. 300
• Women and PwD candidates: Exempted (No fee)

Selection Process

Selection will be based on a Competitive Written Examination. There is no interview for Group B and Group C posts. Candidates will be recommended for appointment in order of merit based on their exam performance.

For Library and Information Assistant (Total: 200 Marks):

1. Paper I (100 marks, 2 hours): General Aptitude and Reasoning (30 marks), General Knowledge (30 marks), General English (40 marks). Objective type.
2. Paper II (100 marks, 2 hours): Library Information Science (Theory). Covers Library Organisation, Information Sources, Knowledge Organisation, and Information Technology.

For Technician (Total: 150 Marks):

1. Written Exam (100 marks, 2 hours): General Aptitude and Reasoning (30 marks), General Science (30 marks), General Knowledge (40 marks). Objective type.
2. Trade Test (50 marks, 45 minutes): Qualifying nature only. Tests knowledge of Civil Engineering specialisation. You must pass the written exam first to appear for the trade test.

For Junior Assistant (Total: 140 Marks):

1. Paper I (100 marks, 2 hours): General Aptitude and Reasoning (30 marks), General Knowledge (30 marks), General English (40 marks). Objective type.
2. Paper II - Computer Proficiency Test (40 marks, 45 minutes): Word Processing, Spread Sheet, and PPT. Qualifying nature.
3. Typing Test (Qualifying): English typing at 35 WPM on computer using Microsoft Word. 10-minute passage. PwD candidates get 20 extra minutes.

2. Fill in the application form completely in A4 size paper.
3. Fill the Data Sheet (Excel file) available on the website.
4. Self-attest all your supporting documents and annexures.
5. Pay the application fee via online transfer to the NIT Mizoram bank account and keep the payment receipt.
6. Email the completed application form, data sheet, all supporting documents, annexures, and payment receipt as a single soft copy (Word or PDF) to recruitmentnonteaching2026@nitmz.ac.in.
