MPSC Sub-Inspector of Excise and Narcotics Recruitment 2026: Overview
Mizoram Public Service Commission (MPSC) is recruiting Sub-Inspectors of Excise and Narcotics for the state Excise & Narcotics Department under Advertisement No. 19 of 2026-27. This is direct recruitment to a Group B, non-gazetted post involving enforcement duties.

Responsibilities
- Detect and investigate offences under excise and narcotics laws
- Lead raids and conduct search operations on illegal establishments
- Assist in prosecuting cases under the Excise & Narcotics Act
- Maintain strict discipline while supervising subordinate staff during operations
- Prepare seizure reports and maintain case records
- Coordinate with local police and administration during enforcement drives
- Monitor illegal manufacturing, sale, and transport of excise items and narcotics

Minimum Qualification
Graduate in Arts, Commerce & Science or its equivalent from any recognised University

Computer Proficiency as prescribed under Mizoram Group A/B/C posts Service Rules, 2023; Mizo Language Proficiency

You need a graduate degree in Arts, Commerce, or Science from a recognised university, along with Computer Proficiency and Mizo Language Proficiency.
You can apply online through the MPSC portal at mpsconline.mizoram.gov.in after completing One Time Registration and uploading all required documents.
You should be between 18 and 30 years old as on 1 August 2026, with up to 5 years relaxation for ST/SC candidates.
Selection includes a written General Competitive Examination, Physical Measurement and Efficiency Test, Computer Proficiency Test, Mizo Language Proficiency Test, and Document Verification.
Men: height 156 cm, chest 77 cm normal and 82 cm expanded; 100 m in 15 seconds, 800 m in 3 minutes, high jump 108 cm and long jump 366 cm. Women: height 150 cm, chest 72 cm normal and 74 cm expanded; 100 m in 30 seconds, 400 m in 3 minutes, high jump 80 cm and long jump 244 cm.
Candidates who studied Mizo in Class 10 or above within Mizoram, or opted for Mizo as MIL outside Mizoram, are exempt from the qualifying test as stated in the notice.
Persons with disabilities are exempt. The advertisement does not give the other categories' fee amount; check the application portal. Fees paid are non-refundable.
