APPSC Civil Services Recruitment 2026: Overview

Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) is conducting the state's combined competitive examination for civil, police, welfare, information, transport, revenue and secretariat services. One common examination feeds appointments across several Government of Arunachal Pradesh departments, from field administration to policy support. The largest streams are the Arunachal Pradesh Civil Service and Assistant Section Officer cadres, while smaller specialist services give you options in policing, child development, public relations, food supply, transport, labour, taxation and trade.

This cycle is intended for people with a close connection to Arunachal Pradesh: the notice ties admission to permanent residence, APST status and an Indigenous Tribal Language. Final-year degree candidates can enter provisionally, but they must produce proof of passing before the main-examination interview. Your preference and merit position determine the service you may ultimately receive; clearing the examination alone does not guarantee a particular department.

Posts and Disciplines

  • State administration: Arunachal Pradesh Civil Service officers handle general administration and public-service delivery.
  • Police and welfare: Arunachal Pradesh Police Service and Child Development Project Officer roles cover law enforcement and women-and-child programmes.
  • District-facing services: District Information and Public Relations Officer, District Food and Civil Supply Officer and District Transport Officer posts connect departments with citizens.
  • Labour and transport operations: Labour Officer, Station Superintendent and Assistant Station Superintendent roles support employment regulation and public transport.
  • Revenue and commerce: Inspector posts cover tax, excise, narcotics, trade and commerce work.
  • Secretariat and publicity: Assistant Section Officer and Field Publicity Officer roles support government files, coordination and public communication.
