Mizoram Public Service Commission (MPSC) Soil Conservation Ranger Recruitment 2026 - 5 Posts
MPSC has released Advertisement No. 21 of 2026-2027 to fill 5 Soil Conservation Ranger posts through a Direct Recruitment Examination. This is a Group B (Gazetted) post — the Soil Conservation Ranger heads the lowest field-level unit of the department and works directly with farmers on soil and water conservation schemes, preparing monthly progress reports for higher officials. Mizo Language Proficiency is compulsory unless you already studied Mizo up to Class 10 (HSLC) or above.
The Land Resources, Soil & Water Conservation Department runs field units across Mizoram, so your posting as a Soil Conservation Ranger could be anywhere in the state — from Aizawl and Lunglei to Champhai, Kolasib, Serchhip, Siaha, Lawngtlai, Mamit, Saitual, Khawzawl, or Hnahthial — depending on departmental requirements.
Who Can Apply?
- Qualification: Degree in Forestry, Agriculture, Agriculture Engineering, Horticulture, or Science from a recognized university.
- Training: Once selected, you must successfully complete Forest Ranger Training from a recognized institution during your probation period.
- Computer Proficiency: Required as prescribed under the Mizoram Group 'A', 'B' and 'C' Posts Service/Recruitment (Amendment) Rules, 2023.
- Mizo Language Proficiency: You must clear the qualifying test unless you studied Mizo as a subject up to Class 10 (HSLC) or above, either within Mizoram or as MIL outside the state.
You must upload supporting documents for every eligibility condition — HSLC & above marksheets and certificates, proof of computer proficiency, proof of Mizo language proficiency, an SC/ST certificate (if applicable), and proof of date of birth — on the online portal, and none of these should be dated later than the last date of application. If a document requires both a certificate and its marksheet, scan them together into a single file. Any file that is password-protected or restricted from printing will be treated as not uploaded, and missing any mandatory document by the closing date will lead to rejection of your application.
Age Limit
- You should be between 18 and 35 years old as on 1 August 2026.
- Age Relaxation: SC/ST candidates get up to 5 years relaxation in the upper age limit.
- Only HSLC/HSSLC certificates, Voter ID, or a digitized birth certificate are accepted as proof of age — Aadhaar Card is not accepted for this purpose, as clarified by UIDAI.
Salary
- The post carries Level 7 pay in the Mizoram Pay Matrix, with basic pay starting at Rs. 39,100 per month.
- You will also get Dearness Allowance (DA) and other allowances as per Mizoram Government rules.
Application Fee
- The exact fee amount for each category is shown during online registration on the MPSC portal.
- Persons with Disabilities (PwBD): No fee.
- Fees once paid are non-refundable. If paying via UPI, use only the mobile number linked to your One Time Registration (OTR).
Selection Process
MPSC selects candidates through a Direct Recruitment Examination:
- Written Examination: Conducted by MPSC; the detailed syllabus is available for download on the Commission's official website.
- Document Verification: Your uploaded documents are checked against the eligibility conditions at every stage of the process — any candidate found not meeting the conditions is disqualified, even at a later stage.
Any application with incomplete or incorrect details is liable to be rejected. Candidates found guilty of canvassing, using unfair means, or intimidating officials will be debarred from all future MPSC examinations — and this debarment record is also shared with the UPSC and other State Public Service Commissions, so a ban with MPSC can affect your candidature elsewhere too.
