RITES Individual Consultant Recruitment 2026: Overview
RITES Limited is engaging Individual Consultants for infrastructure assignments at a client's site in Aizawl, Mizoram. The work spans tunnel and bridge engineering, geology, contracts, safety, control systems and surveying. These are independent consultancy engagements, and deployment depends on the client's approval of your profile and the availability of project work.

- Senior Geotechnical Expert: ground engineering and tunnel construction.
- Senior Geologist: geological support for tunnelling, including Himalayan projects.
- Senior Contract Expert: highway and bridge contract management.
- Instrumentation & Control Expert (SCADA): remote monitoring and control systems.
- Tunnel Lining Expert: lining work on tunnel construction projects.
- Safety Engineer: construction-stage tunnel safety.
- Survey Engineer: highway surveys using modern instruments.
Post-wise Duties
Tunnel Design Engineer
You will contribute to transport tunnel designs and review how design choices fit construction needs.
Bridge / Structural Engineer
You will support bridge supervision and review structural construction, repair and rehabilitation work.
Tunnel Safety Expert
You will assess tunnel safety arrangements and support safety audits during construction.
Senior Geotechnical Expert
You will review ground conditions and advise on geotechnical issues affecting tunnel construction.
Senior Geologist
You will interpret geological conditions and support the team working on transport tunnels.
Senior Contract Expert
You will examine contract changes and claims and help address disputes linked to highway or bridge work.
Instrumentation & Control Expert (SCADA)
You will support Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, including configuration, commissioning and operating records.
Tunnel Lining Expert
You will review tunnel lining work and support its delivery during construction.
Safety Engineer
You will help check site safety practices and record findings from tunnel safety reviews.
Survey Engineer
You will carry out surveying work with equipment such as total stations and digital levels.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Initial term: Engagement starts for 12 months. Extensions depend on your performance and project needs, with annual reviews and continuation on the same project.
- Project duration: The tentative work period is 24 months for the Senior Contract Expert, 30 months for the Tunnel Lining Expert and 36 months for the other roles. These periods do not guarantee continued engagement.
- Independent status: Your contract does not create an employer–employee relationship. Full-time consultants cannot take another assignment during their engagement.
- Client approval: A suitable assessment alone does not guarantee deployment. RITES must obtain client approval of your profile, and the work must remain available.
- Leaving the assignment: The normal notice period is one month on either side. The terms also allow RITES to end the contract without prior notice.
- Confidentiality: Keep project information confidential. Work products, drawings and records prepared under the contract belong to RITES, and supplied equipment must be returned.
- Insurance and conduct: You arrange your own insurance and must avoid conflicts of interest. An adverse police-verification report can end the engagement immediately.
- Current employment: Join only after your present organisation formally relieves you.
