Mizoram Public Service Commission (MPSC) Assistant Sub-Inspector of Excise & Narcotics Recruitment 2026 - 2 Posts

MPSC has released Advertisement No. 20 of 2026-27 for 2 Assistant Sub-Inspector posts in the Excise & Narcotics Department. This is a Group 'B' (Non-Gazetted) post responsible for detecting, investigating, and prosecuting offences under excise and narcotics laws, and leading subordinates during raids. Selection includes a written exam, Physical Efficiency Test, and interview, so you need to prepare on both the academic and physical fronts.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Bachelor's degree from a recognized university.
• Computer Proficiency: You must meet the computer proficiency standard prescribed under the Mizoram Group 'A', 'B' and 'C' Recruitment Rules, 2023.
• Mizo Language Proficiency: You must pass the Mizo Language qualifying test, unless you studied Mizo as a subject up to Class 10 (HSLC) in Mizoram, or as MIL outside Mizoram.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 30 years old as on 1 August 2026.
• Age Relaxation: ST/SC candidates get up to 5 years of relaxation.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a salary of approximately Rs. 35,400 to Rs. 1,12,400 per month under Level 6 of the 7th Pay Commission Pay Matrix.
• You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per Mizoram Government rules.

Physical Standards

For Male Candidates:

• Height: at least 160 cm (5 feet 3 inches)
• Chest (normal): at least 84 cm (33 inches)
• Chest (expanded): at least 89 cm (35 inches)

For Female Candidates:

• Height: at least 155 cm (5 feet 1 inch)
• Chest (normal): at least 75 cm (29.5 inches)
• Chest (expanded): at least 76 cm (30 inches)

You will also need to clear a Physical Efficiency Test (PET) worth 150 marks (qualifying marks: 60), covering High Jump, Long Jump, 100 metre Sprint, and 1 Km Race. In the 1 Km Race, male candidates get full marks for finishing in 3 minutes or less, and female candidates get full marks for finishing in 5 minutes or less.

Selection Process

MPSC will select candidates through the following stages:

1. Written Examination
2. Physical Measurement and Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
3. Interview — your final score combines marks from the written exam, PET, and interview.
