BRIC-National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (NIAB), an autonomous institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, has released Advertisement No. 18/2026 for one Scientist-B and one Farm Manager post at its Hyderabad campus. NIAB works on animal genetics, transgenic technology, reproductive technology and livestock diseases, so research experience in these areas is a strong advantage. Both posts are on Direct Recruitment basis and reserved for OBC candidates.

Who Can Apply?

For Scientist-B (Age up to 35 years):

• You need an M.V.Sc/M.Sc/M.Tech or equivalent degree from a recognized university, with an outstanding academic and publication record.
• You also need 3 years of R&D experience in one of NIAB's thrust areas: Animal Nutrition, Animal Precision Gene Editing, or Veterinary Gynaecology & Theriogenology (with expertise in AI, IVF, ICSI, OPU, ET).

For Farm Manager (Age up to 30 years):

• You need a graduation degree in Animal Husbandry or Horticulture (or a related field), along with experience in the day-to-day upkeep of animals at research organisations or reputed farms.

If you are already working in a Government, Semi-Government, Autonomous Body or PSU, you must apply through proper channel and upload a No Objection Certificate (NOC), Vigilance Certificate and Integrity Certificate from your current employer at the time of application.

Age Limit

• Scientist-B: up to 35 years as on the closing date (11 September 2026).
• Farm Manager: up to 30 years as on the closing date.
• Age relaxation is available as per Government of India guidelines, and the competent authority may relax age, qualification and experience at its discretion for otherwise suitable candidates.
• Reservation for Persons with Disability (PWD) will be as per Section 33 of the Persons with Disabilities Act, 1995.

Salary

• Scientist-B: Pay Level 10, Rs. 56,100 to Rs. 1,77,500 per month as per the 7th CPC.
• Farm Manager: Pay Level 6, Rs. 35,400 to Rs. 1,12,400 per month as per the 7th CPC.
• You will also get the usual allowances admissible to Central Government employees of the same pay and status, posted at Hyderabad, Telangana.

Application Fee

• Scientist-B — Unreserved: Rs. 500; SC/ST/OBC/Women: Rs. 300
• Farm Manager — Unreserved: Rs. 200; SC/ST/OBC/Women: Rs. 100
• Candidates applying from abroad with OCI status pay in USD: $30/$20 for Scientist-B and $15/$10 for Farm Manager.
• PWD and departmental candidates are exempted from the application fee.
• Payment mode: Demand Draft in favour of "National Institute of Animal Biotechnology, Hyderabad", or pay directly online through the NIAB payment link.

Selection Process

NIAB will select candidates through the following steps:

1. Screening of Applications: If a large number of applications are received, NIAB will shortlist candidates based on higher or more relevant qualification and experience.
2. Written Test and/or Skill Test: Only shortlisted candidates will be called, as decided by the competent authority.
3. Interview: Final selection is based on your performance in the written/skill test and interview.

Candidates called for the test or interview get single second-class rail fare to Secunderabad Railway Station from their place of residence. Once selected, you will be on probation for 2 years, which may be extended based on your performance.
