AIIMS Bibinagar Senior Resident Recruitment 2026: Overview

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bibinagar, an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, is filling Senior Resident (Non-Academic) posts across 20 departments at its campus in the Hyderabad Metropolitan Region, Telangana. These are short-term residency posts for 89 days or until the next regular interview, whichever comes first, filled under the Government of India's Residency Scheme.

The drive covers almost every clinical and pre-clinical wing, from Anaesthesiology and General Medicine to Urology and Radiation Oncology. If you have just finished your MD, MS or DNB and want hands-on experience at a new AIIMS before the next regular cycle, this is a quick way in — selection is by interview only.

Posts and Disciplines

• Pre-clinical (Anatomy, Biochemistry): open to medical PG holders as Senior Residents and also to non-medical candidates with an M.Sc./M.Biotech plus a Ph.D. in the subject, who join as Senior Demonstrators.
• Anaesthesiology and Hospital Administration: MD/DNB holders; Hospital Administration also needs an MBBS base degree.
• Medicine group: General Medicine, Cardiology, Nephrology, Medical Oncology/Hematology, Pulmonary Medicine, Psychiatry, Dermatology & Venereology and Community Medicine & Family Medicine. Cardiology, Nephrology, Medical Oncology and Pulmonary Medicine also accept MD Medicine (or Paediatrics) holders, not just super-specialists.
• Surgery group: General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Urology, Burns and Plastic Surgery and Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery (CTVS). An MS in Surgery (or ENT/Orthopaedics for Plastic Surgery) is enough for the super-speciality wings.
• Diagnostics and Oncology: Microbiology, Radio Diagnosis and Radiation Oncology.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: 89 days or up to the next regular interview, whichever is earlier. Earlier Senior Resident service elsewhere is counted towards the maximum residency period.
• No absorption: The post gives you no claim to a permanent job or a further contract, and there is no PF, pension or gratuity.
• Full-time only: Private practice of any kind is prohibited.
• Shifts and rotation: You may be posted to any centre attached to the institute, assigned to more than one department, and put on emergency duty by rotation.
• NOC rule: If you work in a government institution, or are under an active bond, bring a No Objection Certificate or bond clearance — without it you will not be allowed into the interview.
• Reserved posts: If SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates are not available, the post can be filled for 89 days from other candidates irrespective of category. UR candidates may provisionally apply against EWS posts.
• Joining and exit: You get 15 days to join after selection, and either side can end the engagement with one month's notice or pay in lieu.
• Accommodation: You must stay in institute housing during the tenure, subject to availability.

Application Submission Notes

Fill the Google Form linked from the AIIMS Bibinagar website before the deadline (5:00 PM), and pay the fee to the institute's Bank of Baroda, AIIMS Bibinagar branch account given in the notice. On interview day, bring the filled Annexure-I application form, your originals and one set of self-attested photocopies.

Interviews run over two days at the Academic Block, AIIMS Bibinagar, grouped by department — check which day your department falls on. Document verification starts at 8.30 AM and closes at 9.30 AM.
