NCRTC Group General Manager Architect Recruitment 2026: Overview

National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) is looking for a senior architect to head the architecture work of the Namo Bharat regional rapid rail project. NCRTC is a joint venture of the Government of India and the governments of Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, and it works under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.

The Delhi-Meerut corridor is already fully open for passengers, and two more corridors are planned in the first phase: Delhi-Gurugram-SNB-Alwar and Delhi-Panipat-Karnal. This is a top leadership role for architects who have spent their careers designing metro or urban rail stations, not an entry-level opening.

Vacancy Notice 43/2026 fills the Group General Manager/Architect post through three routes — deputation, immediate absorption and direct recruitment — so both government officers and private-sector architects have a way in.

Posts and Disciplines

• Deputation (Post Code 01): for officers of Central or State Government, CPSEs, PSUs and autonomous bodies who want to join NCRTC on deputation from their parent organisation. The deputation term can never go beyond five years.
• Immediate Absorption (Post Code 02): for government-sector employees who want to move permanently onto NCRTC's rolls straight away.
• Direct Recruitment (Post Code 03): the route that is also open to private-sector architects, whose pay is checked only through Form 16, the Income Tax Return and recent salary slips.

All three routes lead to the same job: leading NCRTC's architecture team for elevated and underground stations, depots and control centres. You must file a separate application for each route you choose.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Service bond: Immediate absorption and direct recruitment candidates sign a bond of Rs. 5 lakh plus GST and training cost, and must serve NCRTC for at least three years.
• Probation: Absorbed and directly recruited staff go through a probation period set by Corporation policy.
• Deputation terms: Pay follows DoPT rules, and NCRTC adds benefits such as HRA or lease, transport, laptop and mobile phone as per company policy.
• Government employees: The notice says people working in a regular capacity with government bodies, CPSEs or SPSEs can only apply for deputation or immediate absorption.
• Mixed experience: If you have worked in both sectors, private-sector years count at 80% and government years at 100% for the absorption and direct routes.
• Experience that does not count: Teaching or freelancing work is not treated as qualifying experience, and you must be in a job on the eligibility date.
• Medical: Direct recruits get a pre-employment check at an NCRTC-nominated or government hospital; Lasik or any radial keratotomy for vision correction is not allowed, and candidates with cancer or kidney or liver failure or transplant are not considered. Absorption candidates skip the pre-appointment check-up but must be fit.
• Posting: You can be placed in any NCRTC office, project unit, subsidiary or joint venture, and the work may include shift operations.
• Not joining: If you are selected and do not join, you are barred from applying to NCRTC for two years.

The hard copy has the same closing date as the online form.

Write the route and post code on the envelope, for example 'APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF GROUP GENERAL MANAGER/ ARCHITECT ON DIRECT RECRUITMENT BASIS – 43/2026/03' (use 01 for deputation and 02 for immediate absorption). Deputation applicants must route the application through their Administrative Officer with the Annexure-I proforma, no-objection and vigilance/DAR clearance.

• Lead the architecture team designing elevated and underground RRTS/metro stations, depots, control centres and other buildings
• Integrate architectural design with civil, structural, MEP and system works across all project phases
• Review and approve design proposals, working drawings, materials and finishes from consultants and contractors
• Plan station-area development, including transit-oriented development (TOD), with urban and transport planners
• Coordinate with government authorities, consultants, contractors and utility service providers
• Check designs for function, safety, accessibility and sustainability against codes such as NBC, UBBL, IGBC and LEED
• Conduct design reviews, site inspections and compliance checks during construction and resolve design issues
• Guide and mentor the team of architects and designers
