Mumbai Port Authority (MbPA), one of India's oldest and most important major ports located at Ballard Estate, Mumbai, has a vacancy that fell vacant with effect from 20 March 2026. The post of Materials Manager (Class-I) is to be filled by absorption through composite method from officers of Major Port Authorities, as per the Recruitment Regulations of the Mumbai Port Trust Employees (Recruitment, Seniority and Promotion) Regulations, 2010. Selection is entirely merit-based — your overall APAR grading must be "Very Good" or above. This recruitment is for existing government servants in the port sector; direct recruitment is not open for this post.

Essential Qualification

• Degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, or Commercial Engineering from a recognized University/Institution
• At least 12 years of experience in the Executive Cadre in the field of Materials Management / Mechanical Engg. / Electrical Engg. / Commercial cadre in an Industrial/Commercial/Govt. Undertaking

Desirable Qualification

• Post Graduate Degree or Diploma in Materials Management from a recognized University/Institution

Method of Recruitment

• Absorption through composite method from officers holding analogous posts or Sr. Dy. Materials Manager and equivalent posts in Materials Management division with required years of service
• Deputation from other Government Organizations and analogous posts
• Overall grading in APARs must not be below "Very Good"

Age Limit

• Upper age limit: 45 years as of the crucial date (last date of closing applications, i.e., 21 May 2026)

Salary

• Pay Scale: Rs. 80,000 – 2,20,000 per month
• Old pay scale reference: Rs. 16000–400–20800 (pre-revision)

Selection Process

1. Merit-based screening — overall APAR grading must be "Very Good" or above for the last 5 years (2020-21 to 2024-25)
2. Applications forwarded by administrative Ports along with complete enclosures to MbPA on or before 5 June 2026
3. Final selection by the Services Selection Committee

There is no written examination for this post. Selection is entirely based on merit and service record.
