SPFO Administrative cum Accounts Officer Recruitment 2026: Overview
Seamen's Provident Fund Organisation (SPFO), Mumbai, works under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways. It wants one Administrative cum Accounts Officer (AAO), a Group 'A' post, at its Mumbai office. The post is filled only on deputation, so it is open to officers already serving in a similar grade in another government organisation, not to fresh candidates.
The officer will be the main person behind SPFO's annual financial accounts and will also support the Commissioner on administration. If you have spent years in cash, accounts and budget work and want a three-year posting in Mumbai, this is worth a look.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Deputation term: The deputation normally does not go beyond three years, and this count includes any ex-cadre deputation you held just before this one in the same organisation.
- Feeder officers excluded: SPFO's own departmental officers who are in the direct line of promotion cannot be considered for this deputation.
- No absorption: Officers who join on deputation cannot ask to be absorbed into SPFO permanently.
- Proper channel only: Your parent office must forward your application and certify that no disciplinary proceedings are pending or planned against you.
- Five-year debarment: If you are selected and then fail to join, withdraw, or your cadre refuses to relieve you, you will be barred for five years from further deputation to SPFO.
- Shortlisting: A committee of the Board of Trustees of the Seamen's Provident Fund screens the applications and shortlists candidates.

Fill the Annexure-II proforma (two pages) and have your Head of Department sign the certificate at the end. Your office then sends it with your APAR dossiers and clearances to the Commissioner, Seamen's Provident Fund Organisation, Mumbai. The window closes 45 days after the advertisement appears in the Employment News / Rozgar Samachar, and late or incomplete applications are not considered. - Prepare the Receipt and Payment Account
- Keep the financial accounts of SPFO complete and up to date
- Assist the Commissioner, SPFO, in administrative matters

Degree of a recognised university
