NIT Agartala Security Officer Recruitment 2026: Overview

National Institute of Technology Agartala (NIT Agartala), an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, wants to engage a Security Officer on a contract basis for its campus at Jirania, Agartala, Tripura. The post is meant for retired government personnel, and in particular for ex-servicemen from the Army, Navy, Air Force or a Paramilitary Force.

If you are a graduate who has retired from the forces with a meritorious service record, this is a chance to take charge of security at a national institute. The notice gives preference to those who retired at the rank of DSP or equivalent, and the pay is a fixed consolidated monthly amount.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Who it is for: Ex-servicemen retired from the Army, Navy, Air Force or a Paramilitary Force, preferably from the rank of DSP or equivalent.
• Tenure: The first contract is for one year, extendable by up to two more terms on need and performance. The original term and renewals together cannot cross three years.
• Relaxation: The Competent Authority may relax age, qualification or experience criteria for a candidate found otherwise suitable.
• Leaving early: You must give one month's notice or pay one month's salary if you want to quit during the contract.
• No permanency: The engagement can end at any time if the institute no longer needs it, and it gives no right to continuation or confirmation.
• Interview travel: No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.
• Jurisdiction: Any dispute falls under the High Court of Tripura.
