The Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board (MPESB) has released a major recruitment notification for 2,317 posts of Nursing Officer and Sister Tutor. If you hold a B.Sc. Nursing degree and are registered with the MP Nursing Council, this is a great chance to join the Madhya Pradesh government healthcare system. MPESB Nursing Officer & Sister Tutor Recruitment 2026 — 2,317 Posts
This recruitment is conducted by MPESB on behalf of the Directorate of Public Health and Medical Education, Bhopal. Selected candidates will be posted in government health institutions and autonomous medical colleges across Madhya Pradesh. A total of 2,099 Nursing Officer posts and 218 Sister Tutor posts are being filled through a Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by document verification. Nursing Officer posts are only for female candidates, while Sister Tutor posts are open to both male and female candidates.

Category-wise reservation follows MP government norms: ST 20%, SC 16%, OBC 27% (subject to court decision), and EWS 10%. A 35% horizontal reservation is provided for women across all categories. PwBD (1.5% per disability category in Category 4) reservation also applies.
Who Can Apply?
Nursing Officer (Post Codes 01-11) — Female Candidates Only
- Class 12 (10+2) passed with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as compulsory subjects
- B.Sc. Nursing (4-year) or Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing (2-year) from an MP Registration Council or Indian Nursing Council recognized institution
- Minimum 45% marks in B.Sc. Nursing (5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC candidates)
- Must be registered with the MP Nurses Registration Council (live registration)
Sister Tutor (Post Code 12) — Male and Female
- Class 12 (10+2) passed with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology
- B.Sc. Nursing or Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing passed
- Experience: B.Sc. (Nursing) / P.B.B.Sc. (Nursing) with 1 year experience
- Must be registered with the MP Nurses Registration Council
Important: All candidates must be registered with the Madhya Pradesh State Employment Office. Selected candidates will need to sign a service bond of Rs. 5 lakh for serving under the Directorate of Public Health and Medical Education.
Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age: 40 years (for General/UR/EWS candidates)
- Age calculated as on: 1 January 2026
- SC/ST/OBC/Women/PwBD/Ex-servicemen (MP domicile): Maximum age 45 years
- SC/ST incentive relaxation: Additional 5 years for candidates of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe under the inter-departmental incentive scheme
- Vikram Award winners: 5 years additional relaxation in maximum age
- In no case shall the maximum age (including all relaxations) exceed 45 years
Salary
- Nursing Officer: Pay Level 7 — Basic Pay Rs. 28,700 per month (can go up to Rs. 91,300)
- Sister Tutor: Pay Level 9 — Basic Pay Rs. 36,200 per month (can go up to Rs. 1,14,800)
- In addition, you will get Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and other state government allowances
- Probation period salary: 70% of basic pay in the 1st year, 80% in the 2nd year, and 90% in the 3rd year. Full salary starts after completing the probation period.

Selection Process
- Computer Based Test (CBT): Online exam with 100 objective questions worth 100 marks. The exam is 2 hours long and will be conducted in two shifts — Morning (10:00 AM to 12:00 PM) and Afternoon (3:00 PM to 5:00 PM).
- General Knowledge section (25 marks): Hindi, English, Mathematics, General Science, and Current Affairs
- Nursing Technical section (75 marks): Questions based on B.Sc. Nursing syllabus covering Applied Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology, Medical-Surgical Nursing, Community Health, Mental Health, Child Health, OBG Nursing, and more
- Negative marking: Yes — 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer
- Minimum qualifying marks: 50% for General candidates, 40% for reserved categories
- Document Verification: After the exam, shortlisted candidates will be called for verification of educational certificates, age proof, caste certificate, experience certificates, and other required documents
- Medical Examination: Candidates must be mentally and physically fit for the post

Responsibilities
- Handle patient care activities including medication administration, wound dressing, and vital signs monitoring in government hospitals
- Assist doctors and senior medical staff during examinations, surgeries, and emergency procedures
- Keep accurate patient records, medical charts, and nursing documentation up to date
- Follow infection control protocols including hand hygiene, sterilization, and biomedical waste management
- Manage ward supplies, equipment, and ensure proper functioning of medical devices
- Prepare and guide nursing students during clinical postings (Sister Tutor role)
- Monitor patient progress, report changes in condition, and coordinate with the healthcare team
- Work in shifts including night duty to provide round-the-clock patient care in assigned wards
