Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), Mumbai, a grant-in-aid institute under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, has invited applications for tenured Senior Resident posts (non-academic) in the Departments of Palliative Medicine and Transfusion Medicine, vide Advertisement No. TMC/ADVT-141/2026 dated 4 August 2026. These posts are based at the Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital & Research Centre, Visakhapatnam, and run up to 31 July 2027 — close to a full year's tenure from your date of joining. TMC runs one of India's largest cancer-care networks, and its peripheral centre in Visakhapatnam gives Senior Residents exposure to specialized oncology-linked palliative care and transfusion medicine practice within a premier government-funded institute. Candidates who agree to be posted specifically at the Visakhapatnam centre will get preference during selection.

Palliative Medicine focuses on relieving pain and improving quality of life for cancer patients through symptom management, while Transfusion Medicine handles blood banking, cross-matching and transfusion support for patients undergoing cancer treatment. Both specialties play a critical support role inside a dedicated cancer hospital, and working as a Senior Resident here gives you hands-on exposure that's hard to get outside a specialized oncology centre. Who Can Apply?

For Palliative Medicine:

• MD (Palliative Medicine), OR
• MD (Anaesthesiology), OR
• MD (General Medicine), OR
• MD (Radiation Oncology), OR
• MD (Geriatric Medicine)

For Transfusion Medicine:

• MD (Immuno-Haematology and Blood Transfusion / Transfusion Medicine), or an equivalent PG degree

Equivalence: A DNB (Diplomate of National Board) qualification recognized by the National Board of Examinations is treated as equivalent to the corresponding MD/MS degree for this recruitment.

Nationality: Only Indian Nationals can apply. If you currently work in a Central/State Government, Autonomous Body or Semi-Government organisation, you must upload a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your Head of Institution along with your original certificates and experience letters.

Age Limit

• You should not be older than 40 years.
• Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, and 10 years for Persons with Disabilities.

Salary

• If you hold an MS/MD/DNB qualification, you'll get a consolidated remuneration of Rs. 1,33,623 per month.
• If you hold an M.Ch/DM qualification, you'll get Rs. 1,45,530 per month.
• This is a fixed consolidated remuneration — the notification does not mention any separate DA/HRA or other allowances beyond this amount.
• Shared accommodation may be provided subject to availability. If you take up this accommodation, hostel charges of Rs. 9,000 per month will be deducted directly from your salary.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

TMC selects Senior Residents through a single-stage process:

1. Walk-in Interview: Held on 14 August 2026 between 9:30 AM and 10:30 AM at Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital & Research Centre, Visakhapatnam.

The interview panel evaluates your qualifications, experience and suitability for the specific department you are applying to, and posting is finalized based on departmental needs at the time of selection.
