JIPMER Project Research Scientist I Recruitment 2026: Overview

Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) is hiring a Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) for its India-EMS project in Puducherry. The Department of Emergency Medicine and Trauma hosts this contract appointment under Dr. Manu Ayyan. The study receives funding from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).

The project studies how to build an integrated emergency-care model centred on patients in selected Indian districts. Its implementation-research focus connects the study of existing systems with putting a care model into practice. You would join a project based at JIPMER that works with health-system partners beyond the institute.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial term: The expected engagement is six months, with a possible extension up to one year if your performance is satisfactory. The appointment depends on continued external project funding.
• Project-linked service: This contract gives you no claim to a regular JIPMER position. The Project Investigator can extend or shorten the engagement at their discretion.
• Institute discretion: The Principal Investigator may alter or relax the terms described in the notice. When applications are numerous, the project may use stricter shortlisting criteria.
• Accuracy of information: False information or canvassing can lead to disqualification. If discovered after appointment, it can also lead to termination of the engagement.
• Attendance costs: No travel or daily allowance is paid for attending the interview. If called, you will need to plan for those expenses yourself.
• Communication: The interview date and time will be communicated one week ahead. Interviews may take place in person at the Principal Investigator's discretion.
