Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) is recruiting for its Health Technology Assessment Centre of Excellence in Puducherry. The Department of Preventive and Social Medicine runs this Department of Health Research funded project under Dr. Sitanshu Sekhar Kar. You would join a project team that supports health technology assessment work, with links to government departments, research institutions and partner organisations. • Senior Health Economist: This role sits within the health technology assessment project and accepts medical and non-medical routes. Its work connects research oversight with coordination of proposals, technical reviews and partner institutions.
• Project Scientist-III: This research role also has medical and non-medical routes within the same centre. The notice provides a shared description of scientific and coordination work rather than separate day-to-day assignments for each advertised role.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial tenure: The proposed engagement is for one year, with a possible extension based on performance. An extension is a possibility, not a promise.
• Project dependence: The position relies on outside funding and the project's continuation. The Principal Investigator may extend or shorten the engagement.
• No regular appointment: Taking up this project role does not create a right to a permanent position at JIPMER. Read that condition alongside the temporary nature of the appointment.
• Travel costs: You will not receive travel or daily allowance for attending the interview. Keep this in mind if you are asked to attend in person.
• Interview format: The Principal Investigator can choose an in-person meeting or videoconferencing. For a remote interview, you must arrange a suitable device with a camera, audio and an adequate internet connection.
• Recruitment discretion: The Principal Investigator may alter or relax the stated conditions. A large response may also lead to stricter shortlisting criteria, so meeting the minimum requirements does not ensure an invitation.
