JIPMER Project Nurse II Recruitment 2026: Overview

Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) is recruiting a Project Nurse-II for its Karaikal campus. The Department of Pharmacology is running a community-based drug take-back study with funding from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). The project examines the safe disposal of expired and unused medicines in rural areas of a South Indian district, using a mixed-methods intervention.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project appointment: You will join an externally funded study led by Dr. Kiruthika Sivagourounadin, Associate Professor of Pharmacology. The appointment does not give you a claim to a regular JIPMER post.
• Tenure: The initial appointment is for 11 months in Year I. The project spans 3 years, but any extension depends on performance and continued project funding.
• Changes to engagement: The Project Investigator can extend or shorten the engagement. You should treat the project’s overall duration separately from your initial appointment period.
• Travel costs: JIPMER will not pay travel or daily allowances for attending the interview.
• Recruitment discretion: The Principal Investigator can alter or relax the stated terms. A large response may lead to stricter shortlisting criteria, and the investigator’s decision is final.
• Accuracy: False information or attempts to influence recruitment can lead to rejection. If discovered after appointment, they can also lead to termination.
